Job description

Petra Construction Corporation, a distinguished building construction firm established in 1953 and based in North Haven, CT, is seeking a highly hands-on senior IT infrastructure professional to take ownership of our technology environment. This is not primarily a staff-management or vendor-management position. The successful candidate will personally administer and troubleshoot our Windows Server, Active Directory/DNS, VMware ESXi, on-premise Exchange, networking, firewall, backup and business systems.

This position serves as the company's senior technical escalation point and requires the ability to independently diagnose and resolve infrastructure problems.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. High school diploma/GED required.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, on-premise VMware/ESXi virtualization, TCP/IP networking, on-premise Microsoft Exchange, DNS, DHCP, firewall, and enterprise backup systems.
  • Experience supporting mobile devices and corporate cell phone environments, including mobile device management (MDM) platforms and wireless carrier management.
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, cybersecurity principles, virtualization technologies, and enterprise hardware platforms.
  • Microsoft, VMware, or related industry certifications preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, maintain confidentiality, and respond effectively during system outages or emergencies.

This is a full-time, in-office position with occasional travel to CT project job sites as required. The position may require after-hours or weekend availability for system maintenance or emergency support.
