Job Summary:

PPC Broadband is seeking a talented IT Help Desk Specialist to support IT initiatives across its brand platform. The ideal candidate will have certification from an accredited IT program and experience in handling both hardware and software challenges. Additionally, they must possess strong communication and intra-personal skills, as this is a customer-focused role serving as the first point of contact for the technical support of our employees. This position is on-site 5 days in Syracuse, NY.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for interfacing with end users and their equipment for "Level 1" break/fixes
  2. Own new hire and termination processes, including access provisioning/deprovisioning for both network and software applications
  3. Assist with the scheduled maintenance of all PC and laptop inventory and ordering regularly scheduled replacement equipment. 
  4. Work collaboratively with IT Support Level 2&3 Specialist on:
    • Implementing security polices through use of AD and PowerShell
    • Test new security policies before end users roll-out
    • Test new software utilities to enhance network security
    • Assist closet switch replacement program to enhance security posture
    • Test new policies for anti-virus monitoring and early detection alerting
    • Assist with implementation of new security camera system
  1. Ensures all procedures tested and implemented are fully documented

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in IT security troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Windows operating system.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office packages (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, Teams)
  • Has basic knowledge of overall networking equipment.
  • Strong attention to documentation, detail and organization.
  • Willingness to research and investigate new software.
  • Customer-focused and service-oriented - results driven.
  • High degree of initiative and follow through with IT team on projects.
  • Associates or bachelors degrees with an IT focus preferred
