Job description

Job Summary The Power Apps and Development Team Manager will work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, design efficient solutions, and guide the development team in creating applications that improve operational efficiency. This position will be responsible for ensuring best practices in coding, architecture, and project management while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Power Apps developers, ensuring the team is productive, motivated, and aligned with organizational goals.

Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and offer professional development opportunities. Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the development team. Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle of Power Apps solutions, from requirements gathering to implementation and post-launch support.

Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget by managing resources, timelines, and client expectations. Coordinate cross-functional teams, including business analysts, IT professionals, and stakeholders, to ensure the successful delivery of projects. Monitor project risks and issues, proactively addressing potential challenges to keep the projects on track.

Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements, translating them into scalable and sustainable technical solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform. Architect custom Power Apps solutions and Power Automate workflows that integrate seamlessly with existing systems and business processes. Ensure that the solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and best practices.

Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by the supervisor or director. Additional Focused Area Duties and Responsibilities Oversee testing and quality assurance processes, ensuring that all applications meet high standards of quality, functionality, and user experience. Gather user feedback and analyze system performance to identify areas for improvement, applying iterative updates to enhance the solutions.

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to refine development practices, tools, and techniques to drive better outcomes. Maintain detailed project records, including progress reports, code documentation, and post-deployment evaluations. Generate and present regular reports to senior management on project statuses, team performance, and ongoing challenges.

By managing these responsibilities, the Power Apps and Development Manager ensures that the development team delivers high-quality, effective solutions that meet business needs and contribute to the organization's digital transformation goals. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of: Basic understanding of Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse. Experience in designing, developing, and deploying low-code/no-code applications.

Knowledge of agile, waterfall, and DevOps methodologies. Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, SharePoint, and cloud-based solutions. Grasp of SQL, Dataverse, and data integration techniques.

Awareness of IT governance, security policies, and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001). Knowledge in streamlining workflows using Power Automate and AI-based automation. Experience with REST APIs, connectors, and third-party integrations within the Power Platform

IT project planning, risk management, budgeting, and resource allocation. Understanding of UI/UX principles for building user-friendly applications. Yaqui culture, customs, resources, and traditions, and/or a willingness to learn.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to mentor, motivate, and manage development teams effectively. Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and optimize IT solutions. Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience in collaborating with business units to define technical requirements. Identifying and implementing best practices for IT operations and development workflows. Expertise in leading digital transformation and technology adoption.

Create user guides, training materials, and technical documentation. Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public. Capable of managing, coaching, and developing IT professionals.

Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining performance and security. Education, Certifications and Experience Required A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of hands-on experience developing applications, and proven experience in creating, managing, and deploying custom solutions and automated workflows or any combination of academic education, professional training, or work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position listed above. Special Requirements: Experience in automating business processes, such as creating workflows and integrations that streamline operations.

Familiarity with business analysis and process mapping to identify opportunities for automation
