About the Opportunity

Fathom Management is seeking a Senior IT Process Consultant / Business Analyst to support a high-visibility Federal Government IT modernization initiative in Crystal City, VA.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Federal Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst, IT Process Consultant, or Business Process Analyst who enjoys working directly with government stakeholders, program leadership, PMO teams, and technical organizations to improve processes and deliver practical IT solutions.

The successful candidate will bring strong experience in requirements analysis, business process improvement, process mapping, PMO support, and stakeholder engagement, along with the ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements and documentation.

What You'll Do
  • Analyze and document current-state and future-state business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead and facilitate requirements gathering and stakeholder working sessions.
  • Develop process flows, workflows, process maps, requirements, and supporting documentation using Microsoft Visio and related tools.
  • Develop and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, SOPs, workflows, and other project documentation.
  • Support PMO activities including project tracking, governance, reporting, risk/issues documentation, and executive-level communications.
  • Partner with technical teams to translate business requirements into effective technology solutions.
  • Support Agile development, sprint planning, backlog activities, and implementation efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and support enterprise IT modernization.
  • Prepare executive briefings, presentations, reports, and decision-support materials.
  • Work closely with Federal Government stakeholders and leadership to ensure requirements and solutions align with mission objectives.
  • Maintain accurate project and process documentation in accordance with applicable Federal standards and program requirements.
What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of Federal Government Business Analysis experience.
  • Experience supporting Federal IT modernization or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong experience with requirements gathering and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience with business process analysis, process mapping, and process improvement.
  • Strong PMO/project coordination and documentation experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Visio.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
