SUMMARY OF POSITION:ย Under general direction designs, supports,ย maintains, and evaluates network and telecommunication systems; installs, configures, andย maintainsย both physical and virtual network appliances;ย maintainsย college wired and wireless network, ISP connectivity;ย servers;ย performs other related duties as assigned.ย 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDย RESPONSIBILITIES :ย 

Network Administration/Server Supportย 50%ย 

  • Responsible for planning, developing,ย maintaining, andย monitoringย the security of the campus network.ย 

  • Designs, plans, installs, implements, andย monitorsย both system and application software on the network switches, wireless controllers and access points, Firewall,ย VPN appliances, NAC appliance, and other networked devicesย 

  • Monitor the network to ensure that the network is available to all system usersย 

  • Responsible for all backups of the network devicesย 

  • Install, configure,ย maintain, and support enterprise systemsย 

  • Resolve escalated help-desk ticketsย 

  • Work with vendors to researchย new technologiesย to enhance or improve campus technologyย 

E-mail/Internet/Systems Support 30%ย 

  • Manage andย monitorย ISP connectivityย 

  • Researches and troubleshoots e-mail problems by reviewing mail logs, records, and network configurationsย

  • Experience in all areas of local and wide area networks management and administration including but not limitedย to:ย system configuration, upgrades, setup, troubleshooting, planning, designing, implementation, and user supportย

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:ย Display a willingness to workย additionalย hours during the week and/or weekend, ifย required.ย 

Hours:ย The university's operating hours are Monday through Thursday 8am - 5pm and Friday 8am - 1pm. This position requires occasional weekends and hours outside of regular business hours.ย
