Baumueller-Nuermont Corp. (BNC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Baumüller Nürnberg GmbH representing the Baumüller Group in North America, is looking for a Senior IT Manager. BNC is a leading manufacturer and solutions provider of intelligent drive and automation systems, bringing digital technologies to industrial manufacturing, transportation, and other market segments to maximize sustainability, circularity, efficiency, and performance.

Position Summary

The IT Manager will oversee all aspects of the company's information technology environment, ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of systems, applications, and infrastructure. This role combines technical expertise, user support, and strategic foresight to establish IT as a core competence of the organization. The IT Manager will treat data as a critical asset, guide the business through its digital transformation journey, and prepare the company for artificial intelligence adoption.

Duties and Responsibilities

System & Application Management

  • Maintain and optimize company systems, including Microsoft 365, SAGE 100, Docuware, Zoho Desk, Zoho Voice, Navan, and other cloud-based tools.
  • Oversee integration and interoperability of software platforms to ensure efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Coordinate with corporate IT teams to deploy and manage corporate-defined tools.

User Support & Training

  • Provide hands-on technical support for employees' laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Manage mobile phone provisioning, contracts, and troubleshooting.
  • Educate employees on digital best practices, cybersecurity awareness, and responsible data usage (“digital citizenship”).

Infrastructure & Security

  • Maintain on-site IT infrastructure (servers, networks, firewalls, Wi-Fi, backup systems, printers).
  • Define and implement backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity strategies in line with best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and corporate IT security standards.

Strategic IT Leadership

  • Define the company's IT pyramid (hardware, software, and data architecture layers).
  • Develop a forward-looking roadmap for IT modernization, including AI adoption and automation.
  • Ensure IT is treated as a core business asset by aligning technology with business priorities.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for digitalization and data-driven decision making.

Vendor & Budget Management

  • Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and consultants.
  • Develop and monitor IT budgets, licensing agreements, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and negotiate contracts for new technologies or upgrades.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • However, this job requires that the Senior IT Manager possess leadership skills.
Work Experience
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a similar role at similar companies (sales, sales manager, or geography account executive in industrial, automation, or related companies).
  • Seven years of professional experience, with a minimum of three years at related companies, is required.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5–8 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3 years in an IT management or supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing ERP, CRM, M365, cloud tools, and IT infrastructure in a medium-sized business environment.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, ERP/Accounting systems (SAGE 100), ticketing systems, and document management platforms.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, networking, and backup/disaster recovery solutions.
  • Understanding of cloud integrations, APIs, and automation tools.
  • Awareness of AI technologies, data governance, and digital transformation practices.
