Job description

Overview
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer ISSO to support the cybersecurity compliance and security posture of assigned information systems. This role is responsible for helping maintain system authorizations, supporting RMF activities, reviewing access requests, coordinating with stakeholders, tracking vulnerabilities and incidents, and ensuring systems remain compliant with applicable Federal, DoW, DoN, and Marine Corps cybersecurity requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Support system authorization, RMF, and continuous monitoring activities
  • Maintain security documentation and authorization artifacts in eMASS
  • Review and validate user access requests, training, clearance, and need to know
  • Track cybersecurity vulnerabilities, incidents, and remediation efforts
  • Coordinate with ISSM, system owners, administrators, and government stakeholders
  • Support audits, inspections, risk assessments, and security control reviews
  • Help ensure compliance with approved security configurations and STIGs
  • Assist with contingency planning, disaster recovery, and backup or recovery testing

Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Experience with RMF, A and A, cybersecurity compliance, and eMASS
  • Knowledge of access control, user account management, and security documentation
  • Familiarity with Federal and military cybersecurity policies and standards
  • Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills

Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $120,000.00/Yr. - USD $150,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
