Qualifications:Education and Certification: A minimum of at least 60 hours of college coursework, Required or completion of the Missouri Educator Gateway Assessment (MEGA) Paraprofessional Experience:Experience working with high school students in an educational or behavioral support role (preferred).Prior experience in classroom management, student supervision, or similar roles (preferred).Skills and Competencies:Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors effectively.Strong organizational and time management skills.Proficiency with basic technology, including email, student information systems, and word processing software.Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.Knowledge:Familiarity with school policies, behavior management techniques, and student support strategies.Understanding of academic subjects and ability to assist students with assignments.Responsibilities:Supervise students assigned to ISS, ensuring compliance with school rules and program expectations.Provide academic support by assisting students with completing assignments and liaising with teachers to gather necessary materials.Implement and enforce school and ISS program policies in a fair and consistent manner.Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful environment conducive to reflection and academic productivity.Document student attendance, behavior, and progress during ISS and communicate this information to school administrators, teachers, and parents as needed.Serve as a positive role model, promoting accountability, respect, and personal growth among students.Intervene in conflicts or behavioral issues using appropriate de-escalation techniques and restorative practices when applicable.Monitor and report any incidents or safety concerns to appropriate school personnel promptly.Collaborate with counselors, administrators, and teachers to address the underlying causes of student behavior and support positive outcomes.Perform other related duties as assigned by school administration.Salary: Commensurate based on experienceContract Type: 9 months Non-exempt This position will start for the 2026-2027 school year.
