Position Summary:

The Global Coordinator supports the coreoperational, coordination, and communication functions of the Office of GlobalEngagement (OGE) at the University of Northern Colorado. This position existsto provide essential cross-trained administrative and programmatic supportacross education abroad, faculty-led study abroad, International Student &Scholar Services (ISSS), and custom short-term international programs, ensuringcontinuity, risk awareness, and effective communication as the office'sstructure evolves. 
TheGlobal Coordinator serves as a central point of coordination andsupport for outbound study abroad activity, faculty-ledprogram logistics and communication,and provides operational and compliance-related functions incollaboration with OGE leadership. The role ensures that OGEmaintains institutional awareness of where students and scholarsare located internationally, that internal approval and riskmanagement processes are followed, and that faculty, students, and externalpartners receive consistent, accurate guidance regarding UNCprocesses. 
Thisposition also provides on-the-ground operational support for short-terminternational programs hosted at UNC. The Global Coordinator contributes toprogram logistics, participant support, and daily operations during activeprograms, serving as a visible and responsive OGE presence on campus. 
ThisGlobal Coordinator plays a critical enabling role that allowsOGE leadership to function effectively, safely, and in alignment withinstitutional and regulatory expectations. 

Job Duties:

1. Education AbroadCoordination & Student Tracking - 20% 
-Serve as a primary operational point of contact for students participating in study abroad through approved third-party providers and partner institutions. 
-Using education abroad software and university database systems, maintains accurate records of outbound students, including destinations, program types, dates, and provider information. 
-Provide guidance to students on institutional processes, required approvals, and use of approved providers, referring academic, financial aid, and visa advising to appropriate campus units or external providers. 
-Support internal data tracking and reporting related to outbound student mobility.

2. Faculty-Led Study AbroadProgram Support - 20% 
-Coordinates communication between OGE, UNC faculty, academic departments, administrative resource staff, billing, and external providers for faculty-led study abroad programs. 
-Support faculty and providers by ensuring clarity around timelines, required documentation, travel plans, and risk management expectations. 
-Assist with collection and organization of program materials related to itineraries, emergency planning, participant lists, and institutional approvals. 
-Create, update, and maintain education abroad guidance materials for internal and external stakeholders. 
-Ensure OGE has visibility into where students and faculty are traveling and the structure of each program. 

3. Custom International& Short-Term Program Support - 20% 
-Provide on-the-ground operational and logistical support during short-term international programs hosted on campus (approximately 2-6 weeks in duration). 
-Assist with program logistics including arrivals, departures, transportation coordination, scheduling, room reservations, and daily operational needs. 
-Serve as a visible and responsive OGE presence during active programs to support participants, faculty, and partners. 
-Support communication with international partner institutions related to program logistics and coordination. 

4. International Student& Scholar Services (ISSS) Support -20% 
-Under the direct supervision of the ISS Director, Serves as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), maintaining accurate reporting and data Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and all related requirements with the Departments of Homeland Security (DHS) and State (DOS). 
-Using SEVIS batch solution software, collects required documentation prior to issuing and/or signing immigration support certifications (I-20s and DS-2019s), supports SEVIS data processing and reporting under regulatory guidelines, including mass registration, and maintains data and quality control management. 
-Assists students and scholars in adjusting to life at the university and in the U.S. including providing on-campus academic and personal support resources, clubs and organizations as well as supporting OGE programming. 

5. Operational, Logistical,and Administrative Support - 10% 
-Assist with scheduling, document preparation, internal communication, and coordination across OGE and university partners. 
-Support risk management and emergency preparedness efforts through accurate information sharing and adherence to established protocols. 
-Provide backup support to front-facing OGE operations as needed.

6. Passport AcceptanceFacility & Compliance Support - 5% 
-Serve as a trained Passport Acceptance Facility Agent, supporting passport application intake and customer service as scheduled. 
-Complete required federal training and maintain compliance with passport facility procedures and regulations. 

7. Other Duties as Assigned-Percentage absorbed above - 5% 
-Support special projects, events, and initiatives as assigned by OGE leadership. 
-General support of OGE initiatives and engagement 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree withtwo years of higher education or related work experience. 
A combination of education, experience, and trainingthat would produce the required knowledge and abilities could beconsidered. 

Preferred Qualifications:

-Abilityto work effectively with diverse populations; excellent organizational, humanrelations, and communication skills. 
-Preferencewill be given to individuals familiar with TerraDotta software andthose who have completed NAFSA Association of InternationalEducators Workshops in Education Abroad or F/J Advising, or withexperience in Education Abroad offices. 
-Preferencewill be given to individuals with experience as a Designated School Official(DSO), Alternate Responsible Officer/Responsible Offer (ARO/RO), or who haveworked in some capacity with US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). --Familiarity with the Student and Exchange Visitor System (SEVIS) and theStudent and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) is strongly preferred. 
Individualswith overseas travel or living experience, along with those from historicallyunderrepresented groups, are encouraged to apply. Multilingualcandidates preferred. 

Certification/Registration/Licensing:

ValidColorado driver's license (or other U.S. driver's license with a requirement toobtain a Colorado license on relocation) and clean drivingrecord.  14 passenger van training required forsuccessful candidates.
U.S.Citizenship or Legal Permanent Residency required by regulation, and approvalfrom Department of State and Department of Homeland Security for ARO/DSO statusfor successful candidate.
