Sage Rental Services is a leading provider of specialty rental equipment, fluid transfer solutions, bypass pumping systems, and turnkey service support for industrial, petrochemical, municipal, construction, and energy customers throughout the United States. Sage Rental Services is seeking a Regional Safety & HR Manager to lead the Company's safety initiatives across multiple branch locations and customer jobsites. This position is primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing risk, and fostering a culture where safety remains our highest priority.
In addition to safety leadership, the role will support key human resources functions including onboarding, employee relations, workers' compensation administration, policy compliance, training coordination, and personnel records management.
The ideal candidate is an experienced safety professional who is highly organized, detail-focused, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently with both field personnel and management teams.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership (Approximately 75%)
  • Lead and manage Sage's safety program across all branch and field operations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, environmental, customer, and company safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular branch, shop, yard, vehicle, and jobsite safety audits.
  • Develop and deliver safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientation programs, and ongoing training initiatives.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, injuries, vehicle accidents, and near-misses, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Track and report safety performance metrics, trends, and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Manage employee training records, certifications, safety documentation, and compliance reporting.
  • Oversee the Company's drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Coordinate customer safety audits, contractor prequalification requirements, and ISNetworld/Avetta compliance.
  • Assist operations personnel in developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), site-specific safety plans, and risk assessments.
  • Support branch managers and supervisors in promoting a proactive safety culture.
  • Travel regularly to branch locations throughout the region.
Human Resources Responsibilities (Approximately 25%)
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and new hire orientation.
  • Maintain employee personnel records and HR documentation.
  • Assist managers with employee relations matters and policy interpretation.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and injury case administration.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, job postings, candidate screening, and hiring processes.
  • Coordinate employee training and professional development programs.
  • Support benefits administration and open enrollment communications.
  • Assist with performance management documentation and disciplinary processes.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws and company policies.
  • Support employee engagement and retention initiatives.
