Job Description

PURPOSE

At the direction of the Deputy Athletic Director and Assistant Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, this position will be overseeing all aspects of marketing game day production of Islander Athletics events while providing unique and memorable experience for fans in attendance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional Area 1 Promotional Marketing

Percent Effort: 55%

Job Duties

  • Direct the Athletics Creative Team to develop programming and digital marketing to include video board content, halftime shows and recognitions, sponsor activations, in-game promotions, fan contests and other entertainment elements.

  • Responsible for all game day scripts.

  • Attend new student orientations, Waves of Welcome and other back to school campus events to promote Islanders Athletics. Collaborate with on-campus student organizations, campus leaders, and community members to collaborative events. Assist with other events as needed.

  • Oversee, schedule and assist with all gameday duties related to sporting events.

Functional Area 2: Awareness/Branding

Percent Effort: 40%

Job Duties

  • Supervise staff to include Marketing and Fan Engagement Assistant, Graphics Design GA, Student Workers & Interns (Marketing, photography, etc.)

  • Planning and achieving marketing initiatives to increase awareness and attendance, engage students, enhance customer experience, and solidify the department's brand.

  • Oversee social media efforts for the Athletics Department.

  • Responsible for efforts to a) enhance the visibility of the Islanders Athletic program in the conference, state and nationally, b) advance TAMU-CC mission, vision and branding, c) develop and implement printed and online materials aligned with Athletics design standards and TAMU-CC Brand and Style Guide.

Functional Area 3: Compliance

Percent Effort: 5%

Job Duties

  • Maintaining compliance with the rules and regulations of the NCAA, A&M System, NCAA, Southland Conference and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Two (2) years of marketing or professional experience

  • Additional education and/or experience may be considered as a substitute for the minimum qualifications:

    • High School diploma/GED with six (6) years of marketing or professional experience

    • Associate's degree with four (4) years of marketing or professional experience

    • Master's degree

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Suite

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a higher education setting.

  • Social Media experience

  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and Sound Director Software

SALARY: $54,000 - $57,000/annually, approximately

  • $4,500 - $4,750/monthly
