About the Role:   

Seeking an experienced OT/ICS Cybersecurity & Network Security Engineer to serve as the primary liaison between Operational Technology (OT) teams and Information Technology (IT) teams. This role supports cybersecurity, network security, and modernization efforts across industrial control systems, building automation systems, and IoT environments. The engineer will assess, secure, and enhance OT/ICS environments while ensuring alignment with cybersecurity frameworks and operational requirements. This division is moving towards Nozomi Networks for OT/ICS cybersecurity monitoring platform. As this is a new initiative, the engineer should have a strong understanding of Nozomi Networks and will help drive the strategy forward.


Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the ICS/OT/IoT SME across internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Translate OT operational needs into IT/security requirements and support coordinated implementation.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and risk evaluations for OT/ICS/IoT hardware and software.
  • Identify obsolescence, configuration gaps, and security weaknesses.
  • Review and recommend improvements to administrative, technical, and cybersecurity controls.
  • Review OT network architectures for segmentation, zoning, conduits, and DMZ design.
  • Recommend improvements aligned with recognized cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on OT system changes.
  • Support PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, SCADA, BMS/BAS, and other control systems.
  • Assist with upgrades, migrations, and modernization of OT environments.
  • Maintain system documentation, diagrams, and inventories.
  • Apply security controls and best practices for OT/ICS environments.
  • Evaluate, design, and implement security solutions aligned with: NIST SP 800-82, ISA-99 / IEC 62443, Federal cybersecurity frameworks
  • Support vulnerability assessments and remediation for OT assets.
  • Implement network segmentation and secure remote access.
  • Support firewall rules, VLANs, and segmentation for OT networks.
  • Monitor OT network traffic for anomalies or unauthorized activity.
  • Maintain IP addressing, device inventories, and configuration records.
  • Participate in incident investigations involving OT systems.
  • Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and recovery efforts.
  • Ensure minimal disruption to critical operational systems.

Required Professional Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with ICS/SCADA systems (PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, BMS/BAS).
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Nozomi Networks
  • Strong understanding of OT cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST 800-82 and IEC 62443.
  • Experience performing vulnerability assessments and identifying risks in OT/ICS environments.
  • Experience with network segmentation, zoning, and secure architecture design.
  • Ability to deploy or configure firewalls, IDS/IPS, CPS, and network devices.
  • Ability to analyze logs, events, and packet captures to identify threats.
  • Strong documentation skills (diagrams, procedures, implementation plans).
  • Ability to work across engineering, IT, and cybersecurity teams.

Preferred Professional Skills: 

  • Experience with OT/ICS modernization projects or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies used in OT environments.
  • Experience developing mitigation plans and supporting remediation activities.
  • Experience creating network, cabling, logical, or rack diagrams for OT systems.
  • Certifications such as GICSP, ISA/IEC 62443, CISM, or CISSP.
  • Experience applying segmented architectures such as the Purdue Model.

Education/Experience Requirements:   

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • At least one security certification, such as: Security+, Network+, CySA+, CEH, Any equivalent, cybersecurity certification demonstrating foundational security knowledge.
