Job Summary

River Heights Outdoor Solutions is seeking an experienced Irrigation Installation Foreman to join our growing landscape team in Inver Grove Heights, MN. We are a family-owned company that builds high-quality outdoor spaces throughout the Twin Cities, and we take pride in delivering excellent work for our clients.

The Irrigation Installation Foreman will lead irrigation installation projects, manage daily jobsite activities, support crew members, and work closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

The Irrigation Installation Foreman is responsible for leading irrigation installation, maintenance, and repair projects from start to finish. Responsibilities include:

  • Lead irrigation installation projects for high-end residential and commercial properties.
  • Manage daily jobsite activities and ensure work is completed accurately, safely, and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret irrigation plans and blueprints.
  • Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems, including hydraulic and electrical components.
  • Identify and resolve irrigation issues such as leaks, water coverage problems, and system inefficiencies.
  • Integrate irrigation technology into new installations, including Wi-Fi enabled controllers, rain sensors, and smart irrigation systems.
  • Operate equipment as needed, such as trenchers.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete irrigation installation and repair work.
  • Lead, train, and support crew members while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, crew members, supervisors, and project managers.
  • Address client questions or concerns in a respectful and solution-focused manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, system adjustments, and job progress.
  • Track time, materials, and job information using a smartphone or company-required system.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
  • Ensure quality is maintained throughout all phases of the irrigation installation process.
Qualifications
 
  • 3+ years of experience leading irrigation installation crews. 
  • Strong knowledge of irrigation installation, repair, troubleshooting, and system efficiency.
  • Ability to lead a crew and keep projects moving with limited supervision.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to plumbing, piping, equipment repair, and construction equipment.
  • Experience operating trucks with trailers.
  • Ability to read and understand irrigation plans and blueprints.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and solve problems in the field.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work occasional paid overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to bend, squat, dig, shovel, lift, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to waist level.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of horticulture principles, plant material, and landscape installation best practices preferred.
  • Current DOT card preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with clients, supervisors, and crew members; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on field position. Candidates must be able to:

  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Bend, squat, dig, shovel, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds to waist level.
  • Safely operate tools, equipment, and vehicles required for the role.
