Irrigation Inspector 

Full-Time | Outdoors | Commercial Landscaping | Irrigation

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Clean Scapes is seeking an experienced Irrigation Inspector to evaluate commercial irrigation systems, identify issues and deficiencies, and provide clear documentation of findings and recommended solutions.

This position will spend much of the day in the field inspecting irrigation systems, troubleshooting performance issues, documenting findings, and preparing reports. The Irrigation Inspector may also complete minor repairs when appropriate but will primarily focus on identifying problems and determining what corrective work is needed.

The ideal candidate has strong irrigation knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to clearly communicate findings to the appropriate teams.

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect Irrigation Systems: Perform thorough inspections of commercial irrigation systems to identify leaks, damaged components, coverage issues, pressure problems, and other deficiencies.
  • Troubleshoot & Diagnose: Evaluate system performance and determine the source of irrigation issues, including problems with valves, controllers, sprinkler heads, piping, and other system components.
  • Document Findings: Accurately document inspection results, deficiencies, system conditions, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Prepare Reports: Create clear and detailed inspection reports that communicate identified issues and recommended next steps.
  • Minor Repairs: Complete small or straightforward irrigation repairs when appropriate while identifying larger repairs that require additional labor, equipment, or resources.
  • Recommend Solutions: Determine appropriate corrective actions and communicate repair needs to supervisors, irrigation teams, or other appropriate personnel.
  • Follow-Up Inspections: Verify completed repairs and confirm that irrigation systems are functioning properly when needed.
  • Maintain Equipment: Properly maintain inspection tools and equipment and follow all company safety procedures while working in the field.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with irrigation, maintenance, and operations teams to communicate findings and help ensure irrigation systems are operating effectively.
  • EXPERIENCE

    • Previous experience with landscape irrigation systems, irrigation inspection, troubleshooting, or a related field is highly desirable.
    • Strong working knowledge of irrigation systems and the ability to identify, diagnose, and document system issues.
    • Ability to recognize irrigation deficiencies and recommend appropriate repairs or corrective actions.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Ability to accurately document findings and prepare clear inspection reports.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate findings with team members, supervisors, and clients.
    • Ability to work independently in the field and manage inspections efficiently.
  • LICENSES:

    • Valid Texas Driver License – Required
    • Must have a satisfactory driving record and be comfortable traveling between job sites as needed.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including Texas heat and cold.
    • Ability to walk commercial properties and job sites for extended periods while inspecting irrigation systems.
    • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach when inspecting irrigation components.
    • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
    • Ability to safely use irrigation tools and equipment when performing inspections or minor repairs.
    • Comfortable working around active commercial landscaping operations and outdoor job-site conditions.
