Job description

Position Summary

This position will assist the Irrigation Technician I with the operation and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system. Position assists with all parts and inventory for the maintenance of the system, as well as maintaining a clean and operational pump station building.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists the Irrigation Technician I on irrigation needs of the golf course.
  • Maintains all sprinkler heads, quick couplers, and valve boxes, at or below grade for ease of course maintenance.
  • Understands as-built records and updates changes made to current system documents.
  • Identifies dry areas of turf that may require supplemental watering.
  • Installs new and additional irrigation to existing designed system.
  • May assist in daily golf course maintenance duties, including mowing, watering, chemical and fertilizer application, aerification/top dressing, verti-cutting, irrigation repair, course set-up, etc.
  • Assists Golf Course Manager and Assistant Superintendents in ensuring safety of maintenance operation.
  • Adhere to company safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Completes other tasks/duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-year previous golf maintenance or landscaping experience.
  • Current valid US driver's license
  • The ability to communicate verbally, understand written communication, and possess organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects and meet deadlines.
  • Spanish language skills preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours throughout the year.
