Irrigation Technician (Entry-Level)

Mill Brothers Landscape Group - Northern Colorado

Mill Brothers Landscape Group is a second-generation, family-owned company with over 46 years of experience shaping outdoor environments across Northern Colorado. Our irrigation division plays a critical role in protecting landscapes, conserving water, and delivering reliable performance for commercial and residential properties.

We are seeking a motivated, dependable Irrigation Technician Apprentice to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the landscape and irrigation industry while learning from experienced professionals.

Position Overview

The Irrigation Technician supports our irrigation division by assisting with system activations, winterizations, inspections, and repairs. This role is hands-on and field-based, requiring professionalism, strong work ethic, and the ability to work in all outdoor conditions.

This position offers year-round work and opportunities for advancement within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Professionally represent Mill Brothers Landscape Group in all interactions with clients, vendors, and team members
  • Follow all company safety policies and operational procedures
  • Assist with irrigation system activations and winterizations
  • Perform monthly system inspections to ensure proper operation and efficiency
  • Diagnose and complete irrigation repairs under supervision
  • Learn to program and troubleshoot various irrigation controllers
  • Properly document controller programs and system adjustments
  • Complete daily documentation including timesheets and time & material sheets
  • Work closely with Irrigation Manager, Account Managers, and Division Manager to ensure service quality
  • Participate in snow removal operations during winter months
  • Support additional division needs as assigned by management

Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to take direction and execute tasks efficiently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the irrigation trade
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Clean driving record insurable under company policy
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and 75 lbs occasionally
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Education & Experience

  • No minimum education requirement
  • 1+ years of landscape, grounds maintenance, or irrigation experience preferred
  • Entry-level candidates with strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
