Commercial Irrigation Manager

Star Outdoor

Location: Rockwall, TX (Serving the DFW Metroplex)
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday with occasional overtime and weekend emergency response as needed

Star Outdoor is seeking an experienced Irrigation Manager to lead our commercial irrigation division. This is a leadership role for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, developing teams, and delivering exceptional customer service.

You'll oversee irrigation technicians, manage service schedules, troubleshoot complex irrigation systems, and ensure our commercial properties receive the highest level of service.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the irrigation department.
  • Schedule and dispatch irrigation technicians efficiently.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure Star Outdoor quality standards are met.
  • Diagnose and repair commercial irrigation systems.
  • Program and troubleshoot smart irrigation controllers.
  • Manage repairs involving valves, mainline breaks, lateral lines, wiring, decoders, controllers, and pumps.
  • Coordinate irrigation installations and renovation projects.
  • Monitor labor hours, equipment, and material costs.
  • Communicate with Account Managers regarding repairs, proposals, and project status.
  • Train and mentor irrigation technicians.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation using CompanyCam and other company software.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies.
  • Participate in customer site walks when necessary.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of commercial irrigation experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of commercial irrigation systems
  • Experience with:
    • Rain Bird
    • Hunter
    • Weathermatic
    • Smart irrigation controllers
    • Two-wire systems
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors year-round

Preferred

  • Texas Licensed Irrigator
  • Backflow Certification
  • Experience with SmartLink software
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
