Job Description:

The primary function of an Irrigation Craftsmen is to irrigation the plants based on schedules. This position reports to Ron Tuckett, Plant Protection, Irrigation and Landscape Coach.

Duties:

The primary responsibility for the Irrigation Craftsman is to irrigate plants. Additional responsibilities include following the irrigation schedule prepared by production coaches, operate irrigation systems, drive around nursery and insure all irrigation systems are operating properly, repair equipment and irrigation lines when broken, responsible for keeping up on fertilizer batch plant and chlorine injection systems, clean pump station screens, assist in security at night, set irrigation timing via computer, and willing to work extended hour work shifts on a rotating schedule

Craftsman will drive, walk, bend, stoop, lift to 40 lbs., reach, push, and pull daily depending on work activities. Craftsman is responsible for adhering to all safety policies and procedures and will be assigned duties per department requirements and needs.

Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed, with reasonable accommodations, to support the Monrovia Nursery organization.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver license

  • Basic reading, writing and math skills.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Attention to detail a must.

  • Able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds repeatedly and 65 pounds occasionally.

  • Able to work along during an 8-10-hour per day.

  • Must be able to work under inclement weather conditions (hot, cold, and rain).

  • Must be able to work safely with tools.

  • Must be available to work the following schedule:

    Sunday- Thursday 5:00pm to 3:30am.

    Additional hours as necessary and or different work schedule
