Position Summary
Responsible for the production of assigned irrigation repairs or incidental work as directed by the Irrigation Manager, Account Manager, or Field Supervisor. This is a hands on position and includes the responsibility of assisting in the work and setting a position example of behavior, attitude and work ethic.
Responsibilities
The Irrigation Specialist is responsible for producing irrigation repairs and other incidental irrigation and water management work.
  • Accurately diagnose irrigation equipment problems.
  • Able to excavate with skill/know where to dig.
  • Able to communicate using industry terms. Field communications: must be able to effectively follow common diagnostic instructions from senior specialist.
  • Able to program the following controllers and know their working/default modes: Irritrol MC series, MC+A, MC+B, Dial A/B, Rainmaster Centar and Evolution series.
  • Have basic knowledge of irrigation design. Pipe class, valve identification including the following valves: Hardie 100, Series 700, Weathermatic (all plastic series), Rainbird DV series.
  • Capable of head identification consisting of Hunter PGP, PGH, I series, Toro 570 and Rainbird 1800 series.
  • Capable of nozzle identification and usage.
  • Knowledge of basic hydraulics: Valve size, flow demand, static and dynamic PSI and how they affect performance.
  • Ability to assist in performing an irrigation systems check and repairs or upgrades required for proper coverage and effecient water utilization.
  • Ability to assist in repairs of large scale irrigation breaks, main line repairs, valve repairs and replacements, track electrical shorts in remote controller programs as well as a lateral line repairs, and irrigation head replacements and adjustments.

  • Irrigation: 2 years (Required)
  • Driver's License (Required)
