UT Level II Inspector
At Moran Iron Works, weโ€™re proud to be an industry leader in custom fabrication and heavy steel manufacturing. Weโ€™re seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level II Inspector to join our quality team and ensure our welds and materials meet the highest standards of safety, precision, and performance.
Reports To: Quality Manager
Job, Goals, Responsibilities and Expectations:
  • Ensures inspection methods are performed in an expert and professional manner that meets or exceeds design and standards criteria as set forth by customer contract with Integrity Testing amp; Inspection.
  • Maintains compliance of procedural instructions and inspection processes.
  • Assures testing procedures are maintained and comply with the latest applicable association amp; agency revisions.
  • Assists the Quality Manager with the implementation and integration of the company Quality Management System (QMS) assurance standards.
  • Exercise proficiency in NDT processes and possess, or attain, the proper credentials as required by ITI to perform certified work and testing.
  • Ensure welding processes, procedural instructions, evaluations, inspection processes, etc. are held to customer, contractual and code requirements for all inspections performed.
  • Assist the Quality Manager with the implementation, interpretation, and maintenance of Company quality assurance standards.
  • Train internal employees in inspection procedures and processes when applicable.
  • Support and Maintain oversight of visual testing inspectors to ensure conformity to company and customer weld inspection programs and regulations.
  • Provide Quality Manager with status reports concerning customer processes and procedures which affect inspections.
  • Assist Company personnel in the determination of root cause/quality issues related to the inspection process.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements for this Position:
  • ANST Certified
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to ultrasonic testing
  • Reacts well under pressure
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
