The St. David'sSchool of Nursing at Texas State University is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Clinical AssistantProfessor or Clinical Associate Professor level, who will also serve as Director of our Simulation Laboratory, with a nine-month teaching appointment and required summer contract.

The primary focus of this role is based in Round Rock, with approximately 10% travel to our San Marcos location to engage and support our satellite simulation lab. To support your work, university mileage reimbursement is available for pre-approved, simulation-specific operational activities between campuses.

This key role in our School of Nursing will be responsible for the strategic direction, operational management, and coordination of student learning experiences within the clinical simulation laboratories. This role encompasses ensuring a high-quality, effective, and interprofessional learning environment that aligns with best practices in simulation education. This position oversees all aspects of the simulation lab, including the Standardized Patient Program.

This faculty member role includes a partial teaching appointment as needed within the nursing program and faculty responsibilities of teaching, scholarship, and service. This position features a reduced teaching load of nursing courses per semester to allow dedicated focus on simulation administration.

The Director also participates in the College of HealthProfessions Interprofessional Education (IPE) Committee, fostering collaborative learning opportunities across all health-related disciplines.

Operations:

• Develop, manage, and maintain the budget for all clinicalsimulation laboratory operational expenses.
• Ensure all simulation laboratories are adequately equipped,functional, and maintained for optimal student and facultyuse.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a dedicated team of simulationtechnicians and support staff to ensure efficient operations andhigh-quality performance.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive inventory of simulationsupplies and equipment, including a proactive maintenance schedulefor all equipment.
• Develop and manage a master schedule for the utilization ofsimulation laboratories by each course and individual labspace.
• Maintain a detailed file of laboratory objectives for eachnursing course, outlining the nature of the simulation experience,required staffing, and the designated laboratory.
• Seek and pursue external grant funding opportunities to support the growth and advancement of the simulation laboratories and IPEinitiatives.
• Actively pursue and/or maintain certification as a CertifiedHealthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH).
• Provide leadership in the pursuit of endorsement from the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL).

• Provide expert consultation and support to nursing faculty andstudents in the effective utilization of the various simulationlaboratories and associated technologies.
• Collaborate with nursing faculty to develop, review, andmaintain a comprehensive file of simulation scenarios, clinicalprotocols, and debriefing strategies for student practice andremediation.

• Develop and implement robust systems for evaluating andmeasuring student learning outcomes within simulation experiencesto enhance the overall effectiveness of simulation-basededucation.

• Participate in the College of Health Professions Interprofessional Education (IPE) Committee, providing leadershipand direction for interprofessional learning initiatives.
• Participate in developing and implementing a strategic plan forthe IPE Committee in collaboration with faculty representativesfrom all departments and schools within the College of HealthProfessions and in alignment with the School of Nursing Director'svision.
• Foster and facilitate interprofessional learning activities andcollaborative opportunities for students across various healthprofessions.

• Fulfill the duties and functions of a nursing faculty member,including active engagement in teaching undergraduate and/orgraduate nursing courses (partial faculty appointment).
• Engage in scholarly and creative activities, includingresearch, publications, presentations, and other forms ofprofessional contribution.
• Participate actively in service activities at the department,school, university, and/or professional levels.
• Engage in ongoing continuing education activities to maintainindividual professional licensure and/or certification.

• Must hold a BSN and a Master's degree in nursing; OR a BSN a Master's degree in a related field with 12 hours of graduatenursing education courses.
• At least five years clinical experience in a registered nurserole.
• Eligible for Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Texas.
• Minimum of two years of demonstrated teaching experience in aprofessional school of nursing, or equivalent.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and learning consistentwith the program vision, mission and goals as evidenced by apresentation during the campus visit with faculty.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaborativelywith faculty, staff, students, and clinical partners, contributingto a positive team environment.

• A demonstrated record of accomplishments or activities inscholarship, teaching, and service.
• A minimum of five years of full-time teaching experience at theuniversity level or equivalent.
• Demonstrated strong collegial relationships.

The successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank and title based on university and school established standards.

For both ranks:

• Certification in Simulation Education such as CertifiedHealthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE).
• Earned doctorate in nursing or related field or enrolled in a doctoral program with an earned bachelor's or master's degree innursing.
• Experience in managing the daily operations, personnel, andequipment and supplies of a simulation laboratory serving 100 orgreater BSN students and telehealth simulations for MSNstudents.
• Experience managing Standardized Patient programs.
• Experience in curriculum design, program development,simulation, informatics, or communications technologies in nursingeducation.
• Record of scholarly/creative activities, includinggrantsmanship or funded projects.
• Experience with accreditation, program evaluation, andassessment processes.
• Certification in a nursing specialty or in nursingeducation.
• Experience with online or hybrid teaching modalities.
• Experience in interprofessional education and strategic plandevelopment.
• Demonstrated collegial leadership including mentoring peers,contributing to inclusive excellence, and supporting innovationthrough teamwork.
• Experience building and sustaining community and clinicalpartnerships.
• Evidence of fostering collaborative team development, conflictresolution, and peer support in academic or clinical settings.
