Job DescriptionRole

Cognizant is hiring IoT Engineers to work within its Industry+ practice to build and support connected, context-aware systems across industries such as automotive, medical devices, mobility, operations, and GIS. Engineers will develop and test IoT solutions, provide production support, and partner with business stakeholders to define and implement end-to-end solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and test IoT applications and solutions for functionality, scale, and performance.
  • Provide Level 3 production support for IoT-specific applications, troubleshooting medium to complex technical issues.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, develop use cases and diagrams, and define application integration, security, and system configurations.
  • Work within an onsite-offshore model and collaborate with distributed teams.
  • Apply design patterns, data structures, operating system concepts, and algorithms in solution implementation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Basic programming experience in C, C++, C#, Java, and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming, data structures, operating system concepts, and software development life cycle.
  • Exposure to IoT and cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, etc.).
  • Exposure to relational databases such as SQL and MySQL.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; self-motivated with an appetite to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work in an onsite-offshore model and collaborate with business stakeholders.
  • Experience developing algorithms and understanding design patterns and mathematical concepts.
  • Exposure to Vibe Coding and AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Codex) is noted.
Work Authorization

Location & Start Date
  • Candidates must be willing to relocate to one of Cognizant’s U.S. office locations (multiple cities listed).
  • Start cohorts available in July and September 2026; final start date determined at offer.
  • Annual salary stated: $65,000 (depending on experience and qualifications).
  • Eligible for discretionary annual incentive program (performance-based).
