Job description

Essential Functions
โ€ข Expert in installation, configuration, and customization of BMC Remedy and Helix platforms, including, but not limited to ITSM and CMDB, running in a containerized infrastructure. โ€ข Network Systems Engineers and Architects design, integrate, and operate secure, military communications networks over multiple domains. They deliver detailed network schematics, hardware selections, and software configurations that meet performance requirements.
โ€ข Network Systems Engineers and Architects maintain an advanced technical understanding of TCP/IP networks and current products and networking technologies like routers, switches, and firewalls.
โ€ข They employ necessary tools and procedures to meet cyber-security requirements for sensitive/classified communications systems.
โ€ข They understand Agile development processes and associated tools. โ€ข They understand and can implement solutions within a specific requirement space and budget.
โ€ข Our engineers operate as part of an integrated product team to configure, troubleshoot various networking devices, and network problems.
โ€ข Competencies should include various devices that use the network, including computers / servers that run operating systems like Windows and Linux, Hypervisors like VMware, and container ecosystems. Basic Qualifications
โ€ข Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 6 years of experience; or 4 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree; minimum 10 years of relevant experience/education can be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree.
โ€ข Clearance: Candidate must currently have, and/or be able to maintain an active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications
โ€ข DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CISSP, or equivalent.
โ€ข Professional certification specific to the networking industry such as CCNA or equivalent.
โ€ข Experience with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.
โ€ข Experience with IPv4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting and protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
โ€ข Experience with network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE) โ€ข Strong understanding of features like GRE, IPSEC, DMVPN, GetVPN, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast.
โ€ข Strong understanding network security features like IP access-lists, stateful protocol inspections, and Next-Gen firewalls.
โ€ข Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS
โ€ข Ability to communicate well, including proficiency with MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Visio
โ€ข Familiar with network management applications, like Splunk, Firepower Management Center (FMC), and/or Cisco ISE.
โ€ข Exposure to the Risk Management Framework, associated security controls, and STIGs.
โ€ข Familiar with Windows, Linux, VMWare, Rancher, Kubernetes and container configuration and troubleshooting.
โ€ข Experience with HAIPE/TACLANE and other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures.
โ€ข Experience with tactical/military radio networks, like Common Data Link (CDL) and ANW2.
โ€ข Experience with (MIL) SATCOM equipment and services.
โ€ข Experience with Cisco Unified Communications / VoIP and VTC
โ€ข Ability to operate as part of an engineering team, including knowledge of related disciplines.
โ€ข Ability to interact with senior customer organizations and personnel.
โ€ข Ability to operate with considerable independence, and to self-identify/pursue long-term interests.
