Job description

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of managers and staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Execute strategic plans to archive business objectives.
  • Oversee resource allocation and workflow to meet client SLAs.
  • Ensure efficient and effective daily operations.
  • Oversee periodical Net Asset Value calculations for the Private Equity Funds, including Financial Statement preparation, trial balance review and Partner/Shareholder Allocation calculations.
  • Review the calculation of fund specific expenses, including admin fees, management fees, carried interest and other applicable fees.
  • Review accounting work, capital events, other client deliverables, investor statements and reporting prepared by staff.
  • Ensure documentation is compliant with internal and external/regulatory standards.
  • Review private equity fundsโ€™ partnership agreements, PPMs and other materials.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies/procedures/best practices, external standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in all aspects of operations.
  • Liaise with Investor Relations, Waterfall, Tax, Financial Reporting and other Citco groups/teams globally.
  • Act as a liaison with Clients on matters relating to Fund Accounting services, maintain overall client relationships.
  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to client queries.
  • Act as a liaison with external parties.
  • Coordinate, manage and monitor external audit processes.
  • Provide technical accounting/industry knowledge to clients.
  • Collaborate with Client Integration team (including new client onboarding and conversions).
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to develop client service level agreements.
  • Review operations processes for the Companyโ€™s Private Equity division.
  • Participate in the recruitment and hiring process.
  • Onboard new employees and ensure they are fully integrated into the team.
  • Conduct regular meetings to communicate objectives, updates and expectations.
  • Evaluate team performance, providing timely feedback and conducting performance reviews.
  • Identify training needs, organize professional development plans for the team and coach them to success.
  • Act as a liaison between the team and senior management.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the department and other departments/groups.
  • Forster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the department.
  • Participate in technology automation, procedure development, and other special projects/initiatives.
  • Implementation of efficiency initiatives in a timely manner.
  • Generate ad hoc reports as required.
Qualifications
  • You have a University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or professional accounting designation (CFA, CGA, CMA, CA, CPA).
  • You have 8+ years public/Private Equity accounting experience.
  • Proven experience in leadership role, preferably as a Vice President or equivalent.
  • Skilled in negotiation, business planning, margin analysis, rating agency relations and technical accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of waterfall structures, modelling and calculations.
  • Highly successful record of delivering large scale business/technology reengineering initiatives in the private equity, hedge funds and fund of funds businesses.
  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting.
  • Experience in reviewing and preparing general ledgers and financial statements.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Project management skills with attention to detail and proven ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Especially Excel and Word), experienced user of the FIS Investran PE accounting platform highly desirable.
