Cresset is seeking an Associate, Private Investment Operations to join our Private Investment Operations team. This team plays a critical role in delivering a seamless investment experience by partnering with Advisors, Client Associates, and fund sponsors to support private investment transactions from onboarding through funding, distributions, and ongoing lifecycle events. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where operational excellence is paramount.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the operational onboarding of private investment opportunities by coordinating fund documentation and key investment details with internal stakeholders, external fund partners, and the firm's subscription vendor.
  • Build and manage strong cross-functional partnerships with Client Associates, Advisors, Investment Team, Legal, Fund Operations, Fund Accounting, Reporting, custodians, fund administrators, and external fund partners to ensure timely and accurate execution of private investment transactions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on private investment operations, providing guidance to Advisors, Client Associates, and internal partners on fund structures, subscription requirements, operational processes, and lifecycle events.
  • Review, execute and validate subscription, funding, redemption, and reregistration transactions, including wire initiation, trade entry, and in-good-order review across multiple custodial and fund platforms.
  • Ensure transactions are executed accurately and in accordance with established operational controls and risk management standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, documentation, and operational controls to enhance scalability, efficiency, and client experience.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of best practices across the Private Investment Operations team.

Beyond day-to-day operations, this role will contribute to strategic initiatives, process improvements, and cross-functional projects that enhance the firm's private investment platform. Success in this position requires intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to internal partners and clients. It is critical to be self-motivated, comfortable juggling multiple projects, and eager to foster and deepen relationships for Cresset to best serve its clients and continue to grow as successfully as it has since its inception.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to understand complex operational nuances and consistently execute with precision and accuracy.
  • Experience supporting private investment operations, including subscription processing, funding, distributions, redemptions, and investor servicing.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage complex and challenging situations from origination to completion.
  • Ability to follow complex process documents precisely.
  • Collaborative team player, committed to contributing to the ongoing development of the Private Investment Operations team and the broader Cresset organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and service-oriented environment while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of trust and legal entity structures.
  • Knowledge of private fund administration and custodial requirements.
