Responsibilities
  • Researches information to service and resolve customer inquiries and account issues
  • Answers customer and agent telephone inquiries on Investment Planning Services accounts and policies
  • Processes financial account transactions, entries, product inquiries, and/or requests
  • Reviews and provides suggestions to improve workflows, processes, and/or procedures
  • Applies general knowledge of investment fundamentals and industry trends to service Customer and agent inquiries
  • Candidates selected for this position will be expected to take Investment Planning Services phone calls.

Qualifications
  • Associates Degree or higher, preferred
  • Financial Services, Investments, Banking or Insurance work experience is desirable.
  • Contact center experience a plus
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Excel helpful

License, Background Check and Credit Check Information

  • Will be required to possess and/or obtain (within the first 10 weeks) a Securities Industries Essentials (SIE), Series 6 license, and Series 63. 
  • Fingerprint, credit check and background check is required for sponsorship of FINRA licensing.
  • Continued employment requires incumbents to receive sponsorship from State Farm VP Management Corp. Incumbents must also be registered and remain in good standing as required by State Farm VP Management Corp. and the FINRA. This includes successfully completing all applicable FINRA exam(s) and state exams required by the state in which you are employed. Selected candidates will be required to sign a Securities Registration Agreement. Incumbents in positions requiring sponsorship who do not become or remain sponsored by SFVPMC or SFIMC, as applicable, or do not pass applicable exams, will be removed from their securities-related position, and may be allowed to compete for other internal positions for a period up to 30 calendar days.

Hybrid Work Arrangement:

  • Qualified candidates (in or near hub locations) including Bloomington, IL; Richardson, TX; or Tempe, AZ should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment.  Candidates must reside within a commutable distance from the office location by the start date of October 5, 2026.  Relocation benefits do not apply to this position.
  • Week#1 On-Boarding in-office, Monday - Thursday, Friday will be virtual onboarding.  The next 10 weeks you will be working from home studying for licensing exams (if not already licensed), subject to change due to business need.
  • After licensing, you will transitioning to 8 weeks of virtual core training. During this time, you will be working from home. Subject to change based on business need.
  • After core training, you will be expected to work from the office for a minimum of 6 weeks to help get acclimated to the role before moving to your regular schedule of 50% in-office requirement. This will include the second and fourth week of each month, Monday - Friday in-office.  Subject to change due to business need.  
  • Consistent attendance is critical to successfully passing all required licensing exams and maximizing success during core training, as each session builds upon the previous one.

Additional Department Information

  • Investment Planning Services daily hours of operation are 7:45 AM-6:00 PM, Central Time, following licensing and training.  You will be assigned a shift in between these hours, for a typical workday of 7 hours and 45 minutes.
  • Job may require working nonstandard work hours and/or work week during periods of heavy workload to meet deadlines.
  • May be required to assist other units during peak production periods, high call volume, or meet deadlines.
  • Incumbents are required to sign the Acknowledgment and Consent to Multi-channel Monitoring and Recording, Telephone Monitoring, and the Acknowledgement of Policy on Personal Account Transactions/Acknowledgement of E-mail Retention and Supervision Policy Form.
  • All employees hired into this position are subject to a 12-month incumbency period (beginning on the effective date in this position) which must be met before the incumbent can post or be considered for other opportunities. Exceptions to the incumbency period may be considered for promotional opportunities and will be considered on an individual basis, consistent with business needs and management approval.
