Investment Banking Associate - Software, Internet & Technology Enabled Services

Presidio is seeking an Associate to add to our Technology investment banking team in our San Francisco Bay Area office (Marin County). Our office is located in Larkspur, CA.

Presidio is a leading boutique investment bank providing corporate finance advisory services to high growth companies across North America. PTP provides merger & acquisition, recapitalization, and capital raising advisory services. Our professionals possess deep expertise in technology & software with vertical expertise in auto SaaS, insurance SaaS and real estate SaaS. Auto SaaS is our most active vertical. As an elite boutique bank, this role provides a compelling opportunity to join a rapidly growing team highly focused on deal execution and to work directly with senior team members. Presidio’s culture is highly entrepreneurial, energetic, high-performance, and team-oriented. 


Presidio has closed 26+ transportation SaaS transactions in 4 years (record years for the company), with a robust M&A pipeline for 2027 and beyond, including several large deals. Presidio closed ~8 deals in 2025-2026 (100% closing ratio) in the transportation software ecosystem. 


Job Responsibilities

As an associate on the Presidio technology team, you will assume significant responsibilities related to deal execution and deal pitching, as well as mentoring a team of analysts. Associates assume a critical role in the entire transaction process and have the unique opportunity to work directly with clients, investors, acquirers, and senior-level bankers. We look for candidates who are effective in team environments and interested in a long-term investment banking career.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Detailed Financial Modeling: construct and maintain complex financial models and revenue by customer waterfalls. Deep knowledge of gross and net revenue retention calculations, and other SaaS KPIs is highly valued (logo retention, revenue bridge, ARPA growth, cross-sell and upsell analyses, etc.)
  • Marketing Materials: Prepare presentations, pitch books, teasers, confidential information memoranda and other marketing materials.  
  • Valuation Analyses: create and maintain precedent transactions, public trading comparables, and merger models. Conduct in-depth industry research and demonstrate key valuation drivers for valuing SaaS companies.
  • Management / Mentoring: Support senior bankers in driving day-to-day deal execution while also managing and mentoring a team of analysts.
  • Client Interaction: Small deal teams and Presidio’s strong deal execution history afford the associate with a unique opportunity to work directly with senior executive management teams. Associates have a critical role and participate in all phases of the transaction process (including the initial pitch, client meetings during materials preparation, meetings with potential investors/buyers during marketing & due diligence and helping to maintain the client relationship post close).

 

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education

Successful candidates will have exceptional leadership skills, a commitment to teamwork, excellent communications skills and a passion for learning.  Ideal candidates will have prior investment banking experience at bulge bracket firms or other elite boutique banks.

Desired skills include:

  • The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in business, economics, accounting or a related field
  • At least three years of technology investment banking experience
  • Strong understanding of the financial statements
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Superior Excel Skills
  • Outstanding integrity, ethics, and judgment
  • Intellectual curiosity and resourceful self-starter
  • Outstanding organizational skills with proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding writing skills, including the ability to synthesize key investment merits
  • Strong project management - ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously with extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to professionally interact with a blue-chip roster of clients, strategic acquirers and financial sponsors
  • A background in technology, such as technology banking or consulting, or an undergraduate degree and/or work experience in a technology/engineering field
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Live in the San Francisco Bay Area (or be willing to relocate)
