Job Description

Pathway is seeking an Associate to join its growing Direct Equity Investment Team. Pathway’s direct equity platform provides equity co-investments in support of acquisitions, recapitalizations, refinancings, and growth equity transactions sponsored by leading private equity firms. The Associate will be closely involved in all aspects of Pathway’s direct equity platform. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Assist in initial pre-screening of new direct equity investment opportunities
  • Support the investment process by leading various analyses and due diligence processes for investment opportunities, including detailed financial modeling
  • Coordinate with general partners, third-party consultants, and select clients to support due diligence and manage project timelines
  • Prepare comprehensive investment memos and present recommendations to Pathway’s direct equity investment committee and select clients
  • Assist in the post-close monitoring process, including intake of monthly/quarterly reporting packages, tracking operating performance and debt compliance, assessing performance and outlook, and reporting
  • Oversee investment analysts to ensure the quality of work and due diligence timeliness
  • Assess and present performance/attribution analysis on an individual investment and total portfolio basis to investors

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of private equity, investment banking, valuation, or consulting experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of the private equity asset class, including equity and debt capital markets
  • Significant experience in investment underwriting, modeling, and valuation analysis preferred
  • Strong writing, presentation, and research skills
  • Ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines, and coordinate effectively with teams
  • Expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required
  • Proficiency with CapitalIQ is a plus
