Communications Specialist
The Opportunity:
As a Communications Specialist on our team, you'll be responsible for directing the work of a team to manage communications activities end to end, including collaborating across functional teams to implement system or process-based solutions. You'll formulate communications plans and activities to support our client's initiatives and develop, implement, and communicate strategies and key messages in clear and concise language using a variety of communication materials and media.
In this role, you'll use your skills and experience to design, develop, produce, and advise on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports public health data exchange and modernization.
You'll enable the design, development, delivery, and management of key communications, navigate evolving company communication processes, and establish best practice guidelines for communication and engagement. You'll shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to develop roll out strategies, focus groups, pilots, technology adoption campaigns, and other effective communication methods to meet program goals. You Have:
  • 6+ years of experience in communications
  • 3+ years of experience leading and directing the work of a team, including ownership of tasking and overseeing deliverable quality
  • 3+ years of experience creating executive-level presentations using tools such as the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience developing communications strategies and executing plans to improve the adoption of new products, programs, or policies
  • Experience developing communications products while working with multiple stakeholders across communication initiatives
  • Ability to work with technical documentation for systems, applications, and business processes
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including leadership, developers, public health analysts, or scientists
  • Ability to independently draft communications about complex technical information with a set of stakeholders from business and technical organizations and provide accurate and timely advice, opinions, and recommendations that will have a positive impact on the business
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in strategic communications for IT system implementation planning
  • Experience writing and editing material in a journalistic style for publication on workforce messages and newsletters

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
