Job description

Cloud Architect Objective

Own the end-to-end cloud architecture strategy and the enterprise-wide design standards that enable secure, resilient, and cost-effective delivery of critical business capabilities. Translate strategic business objectives and risk requirements into scalable cloud and hybrid reference architectures, guiding investment decisions and technology roadmaps. Act as a senior technical authority and partner to enterprise architecture, engineering, security, and business leaders to ensure solutions meet regulatory obligations, availability and recovery objectives, and financial targets.

Cloud Architect Responsibilities

Lead enterprise cloud solution architecture for highly-available and business-critical workloads, including definition of reference architectures, patterns, and guardrails to ensure reliability, resilience, and operational excellence.

Develop and lead cloud adoption and migration roadmaps, including application rationalization, dependency mapping, cutover planning, and post-migration optimization; establish success measures for risk reduction, reliability improvement, and cost efficiency.

Define cloud security architecture and control objectives in partnership with IT Security, including identity and access management, network segmentation, encryption, and secure-by-default platform configurations; ensure designs align to applicable regulatory and audit expectations.

Lead infrastructure architecture reviews and risk-based remediation planning; partner with audit, risk, and compliance stakeholders to ensure cloud and hybrid designs satisfy control testing, evidence requirements, and regulatory obligations.

Cloud Architect Qualifications

Eight to ten years of progressive experience in cloud architecture/engineering, including leading architecture decisions for business-critical platforms in regulated or high-availability environments.

Demonstrated hands-on experience with one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) including design of enterprise landing zones, network and identity foundations, and reusable reference architectures.

Proven experience planning and executing migrations/modernizations (applications, data, and infrastructure) with measurable improvements in resilience, performance, and/or total cost of ownership.

Preferred

One or more of the following certifications preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert; AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional; Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect; Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or equivalent.
