The Tech-MRI-Registered plays a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care while the patient is at Union Health. The Imaging Services team consists of X-ray, CT, MRI, General Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Interventional Radiology. As a member of the Union Health Imaging team, you will play an integral role by assuring that services are provided within professional standards and organizational policies to assist patients who lean on the Imaging Services team for answers.

Tech-MRI-Registered Details

Essential Job Duties:

  • Perform comprehensive MRI duties including correct protocol usage, patient positioning and education, verification of orders and previous exams, and producing high-quality diagnostic images in a timely manner.

  • Adhere to all safety measures and hospital policies, including contrast media administration, proper screening, infection control procedures, and emergency protocols.

  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare personnel, assist with advanced procedures, document relevant data, and provide guidance to students and new employees.

  • Maintain equipment, manage quality control processes, and remain compliant with continuing education requirements and hospital policies.

  • Handle additional responsibilities such as cross-training in specialized areas, registering patients, scheduling exams, managing inventory, and performing related administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal Radiology technical training program approved by the A.M.A. Prefer 1 year experience as a staff radiologic technologist

  • Knowledge of magnetic fields (e.g., safety factors relative to metallic objects within patients and within the magnetic field; safety issues concerning patients and staff)

  • Excellent command of radiologic anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, and basic radiologic/MRI physics

  • Flexible work schedule to meet departmental demands

  • Ability to take on-call hours and respond to callbacks within the specified time

License/Certification:

  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or ARRT-eligible (including compliance with CE requirements)

  • Certification by the Indiana State Department of Health (Diagnostic X-Ray Machine Operator)

  • Advanced Registry by the ARRT in MRI

  • Shift Details: 7a-7:30 pm
