Job description

Server Tech Solutions Inc. โ€” 111 Central Park Pl, Sanford, FL 32771

Full-time | Mondayโ€“Friday, 9:00 a.m. โ€“ 6:00 p.m. | On-site

$30.00 โ€“ $38.00 per hour (based on experience)

Reports to: Director of Operations

-ABOUT THE WORK-

Server Tech Solutions runs a conversion operation. Enterprise hardware arrives as an unknown quantity โ€” a pallet, a manifest, and a vendor's word โ€” and leaves as graded, priced, sellable SKUs. How fast that conversion happens is the constraint on how fast this company grows.

Our core volume is enterprise storage: HDDs, SSDs, NVMe, and M.2 in lot quantities across every capacity, interface, and form factor. Around that: complete servers (Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Supermicro, Cisco UCS), memory, GPUs, CPUs, RAID controllers, HBAs, network cards, and power supplies. We also handle ITAD for clients decommissioning their infrastructure.

Between the dock and the listing sits a pipeline: receive, serialize, stage, test, grade, reconcile, SKU, activate. Every stage has capacity, every stage has a queue, and every hour a unit spends in WIP is deferred revenue.

You own that pipeline.

-WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR-

You have run throughput in a hardware environment โ€” ITAD, IT refurbishment, a repair depot, electronics remanufacturing, or enterprise resale. You think in queues, capacity, and yield. You know that a test bench sitting idle while inbound stacks up is the most expensive thing in the building, and you have fixed that problem before.

You also know the equipment. You understand why a lot of drives can pass count and still fail value, what power-on hours do to a grade, and how yield variance by vendor tells you something purchasing needs to hear.

You do not need to be an engineer. You need to have moved serialized hardware at volume and owned the number at the end of the month.

-WHAT YOU'LL OWN-

Throughput & WIP Control

  • Own the inbound pipeline end to end: arrival โ†’ receiving โ†’ staging โ†’ testing โ†’ grading โ†’ reconciliation โ†’ SKU โ†’ live
  • Track and drive down work-in-process inventory; know at any moment what is in the building, what stage it is at, and what is blocking it
  • Identify the constraint in the pipeline and move it โ€” capacity, labor, information, or vendor
  • Own conversion velocity as the primary operational KPI

Test Capacity & Queue Management

  • Set testing priority based on PO urgency, capital exposure, and business value; coordinate daily with HW Engineering & Testing
  • Keep a prioritized queue staged at all times so no test capacity sits idle
  • Balance drive test throughput against server and component work
  • Track every unit through test, retest, and grading โ€” nothing forgotten, nothing lost

Yield, Grading & SKU Activation

  • Reconcile post-test yields (Grade A/B/C) against inbound manifests and POs
  • Track yield rates by vendor and lot; surface variance to Purchasing before the next buy
  • Oversee SKU transformation when grading splits a lot into distinct SKUs
  • Coordinate with Ecommerce so graded inventory activates for pricing without delay
  • Drive speed-to-live from grading completion to posted listing

PO Lifecycle & Vendor Accountability

  • Own the PO from in-transit through live and sellable
  • Maintain daily PO aging visibility for leadership and Purchasing; clear stale and stuck POs
  • Document shortages, overages, substitutions, and grade misrepresentation with evidence strong enough to support a claim
  • Turn discrepancies around within 48 hours of identification

Receiving Accuracy

  • Enforce 1:1 serial-level traceability from PO through grading, activation, and sale
  • Hold the team to verification standards on part numbers, revisions, configurations, quantities, and condition
  • Ensure inventory records reflect physical state, grade, and sellable classification at all times

ITAD Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain chain-of-custody documentation on client decommissioning and ITAD receipts
  • Ensure drives route to the correct sanitization or destruction path and that certificates are issued accurately
  • Oversee returns disposition: RMA processing, return-to-vendor, and scrap pipelines
  • Support audit readiness as ITAD operations scale

Team, Systems & Process

  • Manage the receiving and inventory control team
  • Build and maintain SOPs across the inbound pipeline
  • Train the team on serialized handling, hardware identification, documentation standards, and escalation
  • Maintain accurate, auditable records in Finale Inventory (ERP migration anticipated)

-WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE-

  • PO cycle time โ€” average days from arrival to live and sellable
  • WIP volume โ€” units in process at any given time, trending down
  • Speed to live โ€” time from grading completion to inventory posted
  • PO aging โ€” open POs beyond 14 days; percentage completed within 7
  • Receiving accuracy โ€” percentage of POs received with zero discrepancies
  • Test capacity utilization โ€” idle bench time approaching zero

-REQUIREMENTS-

  • 3โ€“5+ years in inventory operations, production management, receiving management, or warehouse operations
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise drives, servers, or components โ€” you can identify hardware and read manufacturer part numbers without looking up every line
  • Background in ITAD, IT refurbishment, data center decommissioning, e-waste, electronics remanufacturing, or hardware resale
  • Demonstrated results in throughput: WIP reduction, queue prioritization, or cycle time improvement
  • Experience with WMS or ERP inventory systems (Finale Inventory or comparable)
  • People leadership โ€” managing a small team against measurable operational targets
  • Comfortable coordinating across Purchasing, Testing, Ecommerce, and Finance

-STRONGLY PREFERRED-

  • Familiarity with drive health data โ€” SMART attributes, power-on hours, reallocated sectors, SSD wear indicators โ€” and how it maps to grading
  • Experience managing test or production capacity in a hardware environment
  • Working knowledge of NIST 800-88 sanitization, degaussing, or physical destruction workflows
  • Experience in an R2v3, e-Stewards, NAID AAA, or ISO 14001 environment
  • Fluency with OEM part numbering: Dell DP/N, HPE spare and assembly numbers, Cisco PID, Supermicro model strings
  • Experience with lot-based or broker purchasing and vendor yield analysis

-WHAT MAKES SOMEONE GOOD AT THIS-

  • Velocity-minded โ€” you understand that WIP is deferred revenue and you feel it
  • Constraint thinking โ€” you find the bottleneck instead of working around it
  • Data-driven โ€” you can tell Purchasing which vendor's lots underperform, with numbers
  • Calm under pressure โ€” high volume and shifting priorities do not compromise your accuracy

-WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS-

Every PO that sits incomplete costs money โ€” in deferred revenue, in vendor trust, in purchasing leverage, and in operational drag. Inventory that has been received but not activated is capital we have already spent and cannot yet sell.

This role exists to shorten the distance between the dock and the listing, without losing a single serial along the way.

-COMPENSATION & BENEFITS-

  • $30.00 โ€“ $38.00 per hour, based on experience
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Paid time off
  • Mondayโ€“Friday, 9:00 a.m. โ€“ 6:00 p.m., on-site in Sanford, FL

-EXPERIENCE-

  • Inventory or receiving operations: 3 years (Required)
  • Enterprise hardware or ITAD: 2 years (Preferred)

Ability to Commute: Sanford, FL 32771 (Required)

Work Location: In person
