JOB SUMMARY

The General Manager at Canal Coffee Company is essential to helping our stores run smoothly. As a manager, you can expect to be seen helping with scheduling, inventory, and training new staff, among other responsibilities. Outstanding customer service is a must as you will be promoting coffee consumption by educating customers, and determining their coffee interest and needs.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily store operations, cleanliness, and service standards

Manage staff scheduling, payroll prep, training, and shift coverage

Supervise baristas, address customer concerns, and hold team members accountable

Monitor inventory, stock levels, deliveries, and product rotation

Prepare and serve quality beverages and food according to company standards

Drive sales through customer engagement, upselling, and product knowledge

Partner with the Operations Manager to maintain consistency and documentation

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred

1+ year of supervisory, café, coffee shop, or barista experience in a high-volume setting

Inventory control and cash handling experience required

Basic computer skills, including Word and Excel

Must be at least 18 years old

Must be able to work weekends, have mostly open availability, and assist with physical tasks like lifting boxes
