About the role:
As an Inventory Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring product availability while optimizing inventory performance for Puerto Rico. You will work cross-functionally with Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Customer Care, Manufacturing, Quality, Warehouse Operations, and Global Supply Chain to balance customer service, inventory investment, and business objectives.
This role goes beyond demand planning and forecasting. We are looking for a proactive professional who enjoys analyzing data, identifying opportunities, solving problems, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to improve Supply Chain performance.
Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, self-management, initiative, and the ability to make recommendations supported by data.
Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
This is a hybrid role based in our San Juan, Puerto Rico office, requiring three days per week onsite and two days working remotely.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Develop and maintain demand forecasts to support business and customer requirements.
• Plan and monitor inventory levels for warehouse and customer consignment to ensure product availability while optimizing inventory investment.
• Analyze inventory performance, including Inventory $, DIOH, Scrap, inventory aging, and excess inventory.
• Lead the Puerto Rico Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, coordinating cross-functional collaboration to align demand, supply, inventory, and business priorities while ensuring timely execution of agreed action plans.
• Monitor inventory KPIs and recommend corrective actions based on business impact.
• Prepare and present inventory, demand, and supply performance metrics to support business reviews and decision-making.
• Coordinate inventory transfers, inventory balancing, liquidation activities, and inventory optimization initiatives.
• Identify inventory risks and proactively communicate mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support inventory planning and business decisions.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to simplify processes and improve Supply Chain performance.
• Leverage Artificial Intelligence and digital tools to improve productivity, automate routine activities, enhance analysis, and support decision making.
• Ensure compliance with Boston Scientific Quality System requirements and applicable procedures.
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Inventory Planning, Demand Planning, Logistics, or Operations. Experience analyzing inventory and business data to support operational decisions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Ability to organize work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results with moderate guidance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different functions.
• Professional proficiency in English.
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience managing customer consignment inventory and warehouse inventory.
• Knowledge of inventory optimization metrics such as DIOH, Inventory Charges, and Inventory Aging.
• Experience participating in S&OP or demand planning processes.
• Experience working in a regulated industry such as medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing.
• Experience using Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
• Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence tools to improve productivity, automate routine activities, perform business analysis, or support decision making.
• Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve business performance.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships and effectively manage challenging business discussions with internal stakeholders.
