What is an inventory control support?

Inventory Control Support professionals are responsible for assisting with the management and organization of a company’s inventory. They help track stock levels, process inventory transactions, conduct audits, and ensure that records are accurate and up to date. Their work supports efficient supply chain operations and helps prevent issues like overstocking or stockouts. These roles often require attention to detail, data entry skills, and familiarity with inventory management systems.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an inventory control support?

To thrive as an Inventory Control Support, you need a solid understanding of inventory management principles, attention to detail, and often a high school diploma or relevant experience. Job description

Company Overview

Allen Control Systems (ACS) is a cutting-edge defense startup founded by two ex-Navy electrical engineers with a proven track record in robotics and software. We are developing a small, autonomous gun turret that employs advanced computer vision and control systems to precisely target and neutralize small drones and loitering munitions. Our innovative approach requires overcoming significant technical challenges, making this an exciting and dynamic environment for experienced engineers.

With an engineering-first culture, ACS values technical excellence and continuous learning. Backed by our founders' successful exits from two previous ventures acquired for a combined $180M in 2022, we are committed to ensuring that the groundbreaking technologies we develop have a real-world impact.

Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. In this role, you'll learn the ins and outs of our supply chain while helping us manage the essential materials that power our production line. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment and play a vital part in delivering state-of-the-art technology to the DoD

What You'll Do

Inventory Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all inventory items. Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.

Prepare 'kits' for the production team by gathering all necessary parts and hardware listed on manufacturing orders, ensuring the assembly line has everything they need to start work immediately

Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies

Procurement Collaboration: Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure accuracy of timelines, forecasting and deliveries of components and materials.

Documentation and Reporting: Generate inventory reports, including stock levels, usage, and trends. Maintain documentation related to inventory processes and transactions

Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve inventory control procedures and systems. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs

Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal security protocols for handling sensitive materials. Safeguard inventory against theft, damage, and unauthorized access

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and logistics, to ensure smooth operations. Communicate inventory-related issues and recommendations to management

What You Bring To Us

Prior experience in a stockroom, retail inventory, or warehouse setting is a plus, but not required. A background in a fast-paced environment where you had to track parts or supplies is ideal

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Knowledge of defense industry regulations and compliance standards is a plus

What You'll Need To Be Successful

Skill in both verbal and written communication

Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

Selfmotivated, proactive and an effective team player

Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

We Are Looking For Someone Who

You are proactive and resourceful, you don't wait for permission to solve problems.

You are detail-oriented, but can zoom out and think strategically about systems and scalability.

You have a hospitality mindset, you anticipate others' needs and take pride in creating a welcoming and effective workspace.

You thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, and you're energized by building things from scratch.

You're excited to support a team of engineers and remove obstacles so they can focus on building.

What We Offer

Health, Dental, Vision Insurance
