Job purpose
The Inventory Control Manager owns inventory accuracy across the distribution center, using Apprise ERP/WMS data analysis and structured problem solving to drive continuous improvement in stock integrity, cycle counting, and shrinkage reduction.
To plan, organize, direct, manage and evaluate Inventory Control and Warehouse team members in daily tasks of verifying, tracking, maintaining and improving inventory to support business demands; the identification of opportunities for inventory operation improvements; promote and implement the company's core values and excellence in customer service; responsible for maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Manage cycle count programs within Apprise, analyzing variance reports to isolate root causes (receiving errors, putaway mismatches, RF scanning issues, system-vs-physical discrepancies)
  • Run and interpret Apprise inventory adjustment, on-hand, and location audit reports to detect trends before they become larger accuracy problems
  • Investigate inventory adjustments and shrinkage using Apprise transaction history to trace issues back to the originating process step
  • Partner with receiving, putaway, and RF-driven picking teams to close the loop on recurring discrepancies identified in Apprise
  • Own inventory accuracy KPIs (accuracy %, adjustment dollars, cycle count completion) and report trends to leadership using Apprise data extracts
  • Configure and maintain Apprise location/bin logic, lot control, and cycle count parameters to support lean/5S warehouse standards
  • Perform SKU-level analysis in Apprise to flag slow-moving, obsolete, or at-risk inventory ahead of S&OP cycles
  • Troubleshoot Apprise data integrity issues in partnership with IT/WMS admin as needed
  • Remain current with the latest inventory management and product handling tools, technology and procedures.
  • Coach, train, develop and manage the inventory control team members.
  • Supports maintaining a safe working environment and focuses on safe work habits.
  • Maintains a focus for self and team on continuous learning that will enhance skill sets and growth opportunities.

Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years inventory control experience in a distribution/warehouse environment
  • Direct hands-on experience with Apprise ERP/WMS (reporting, transaction troubleshooting, cycle count setup)
  • Strong analytical skills - able to pull and interpret Apprise/Excel data to find patterns across large datasets
  • Demonstrated root-cause problem-solving (5-Why, fishbone, or similar) applied to real inventory discrepancies
  • Comfort working in an RF-scanning warehouse environment
  • Ability to translate system data into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership
  • Lean/Six Sigma exposure preferred
  • B2B/wholesale distribution experience preferred
  • Experience supporting Apprise version upgrades or configuration changes preferred
