Job Summary

General Purpose:

Operates and maintains the inventory of the warehouse. Supervises and coordinates receiving, storing, inventory, holding and shipping product.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Reviews and monitors the timely confirmation and accuracy of inbound inventory, outbound shipments, and book adjustment transactions to ensure accurate inventory management records.
  • Coordinates and performs the taking of physical inventories in accordance with the manufacturers' requirements, investigates inventory variances; directs the performance of daily/weekly cycle accounts and adjusts inventory records if necessary.
  • Coordinates delivery/pick up of materials from supply room, if exists.
  • Coordinates the activities associated with product recalls upon request.
  • Monitors the activities associated with customer return shipments including overages, shortages and damages; communicates concealed damages to manufacturer.
  • Coordinates damaged and defective products, ensuring it is accounted for and properly handled by dumping, reconditioning, or returning to producing plant.
  • Supervises all inventory control personnel, if any, to achieve objectives relating to inventory control management, provides communication and suggests inventory improvements to supervisor.
  • Provides back up to purchasing agent, if necessary.
  • Keys receipts of materials, if necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Effectively communicate with associates and customers in person and via telephone, verbally and non-verbally to accomplish necessary objectives
  • Effectively review performance of subordinates, if any, to ensure compliance to requirements.
  • Must be able to shift priorities easily.

Office Skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation package and database systems.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

Typically requires a Bachelor degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 3 years of materials experience or experience using Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP) systems or related field.
