Job description

Inventory Control Associate

Location: Atlanta, GA
Starting Pay:$20.70 and up (based on experience), 1st shift

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits; accurately document results and variances
  • Report discrepancies and support investigations by researching transactions, locations, and handling history to help determine root cause
  • Maintain accurate labeling, bin organization, and location integrity to support inventory accuracy and efficient picking
  • Assist with stock movements including replenishment, consolidation, put away support, and inventory adjustments as directed
  • Use handheld scanners and WMS tools to record inventory movements, counts, and location changes in real time
  • Follow proper safety and material-handling procedures at all times; report hazards or unsafe conditions promptly
  • Communicate inventory issues, low stock levels, and recurring discrepancies to supervisors and operations partners
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in designated inventory areas
  • Support receiving and picking teams during downtime to maintain workflow continuity
  • Participate in training and development activities as assigned
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of warehouse or inventory experience preferred
  • Skills:
    • Basic computer and data entry skills
    • Familiarity with WMS and/or barcode scanning systems preferred
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Preferred: OSHA forklift certification or other material-handling equipment certification

Essential Functions (ADA)

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position and move/traverse throughout the warehouse to perform cycle counts, verify locations, and support inventory audits
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate handheld scanners, keyboards, and other devices to enter and verify inventory data in a WMS
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and safely handle materials while maintaining accuracy and following site safety procedures

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily in a warehouse environment; often indoors but may sometimes work outdoors near docks or yard areas
  • May be exposed to equipment and machinery; noise levels can be distracting or uncomfortable
  • Workspaces may not be temperature-controlled and can be hot or cold depending on season and facility area
  • Work near others and may share the same workspace; may occasionally need to work in awkward positions to access tight storage areas
