Job description

Inventory and Replenishment Lead

Outerspace is a new type of Ops Center for high growth brands. We do warehousing and fulfillment, customization and light manufacturing, product photography, and more. This is not an old school warehouse operation that has been doing things the same way for 30 years. We come from the brand side and have built and led operations for companies like Steve Madden, Prada and Nice Laundry.

The primary responsibilities of the Team Lead at Outerspace is to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Leads to assist the Supervisor in attaining overall department goals. They lead by example and assist the Supervisor and department by effectively planning and organizing work flow; promoting teamwork, training, problem solving and decision making.

We are seeking a highly motivated and people-oriented Inventory Lead to join the team. This role is responsible for coordinating daily warehouse and inventory control activities while ensuring operational processes and standards are followed within a fast-paced warehouse environment. The Inventory Lead works closely with the Inventory Supervisor and Operations team to support outbound requirements, inventory accuracy, replenishment flow, and daily operational execution. The ideal candidate leads by example, maintains strong communication with associates, and promotes accountability, organization, safety, and operational discipline.

Reports to: Inventory Supervisor / Operations Supervisor
Compensation: $18.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

Daily Operations:

  • Coordinate daily warehouse activities and manage time allocation for operational tasks.
  • Ensure fast and efficient material storage response to support outbound operational needs.
  • Lead daily start-up meetings (shift huddles) with the assigned team.
  • Share daily operational planning and updated workload priorities with associates.
  • Communicate next-day operational planning and preparation needs.
  • Monitor and follow up on warehouse organization and housekeeping standards, including racks, active locations, workstations, and operational incidents.
  • Conduct and reinforce daily safety talks and safe work practices.
  • Coordinate preventive replenishment activities and replenishment task follow-up.
  • Monitor replenishment reports and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Coordinate active location releases and reserve inventory movements based on ABC priorities.

Inventory Control:

  • Monitor completion of count plan activities and inventory tracking reports.
  • Ensure operational processes related to inventory movement and replenishment are followed correctly.
  • Support inventory organization and proper location management within warehouse operations.
  • Assist with issue escalation related to inventory discrepancies or operational delays.
  • Complete end-of-shift turnover reports and communicate operational status updates.

Operational Excellence:

  • Monitor productivity by shift and support operational performance tracking.
  • Follow up on scorecards and operational KPI completion.
  • Identify process gaps and communicate improvement opportunities to leadership.
  • Reinforce compliance with SOPs, operational procedures, and inventory standards.
  • Support continuous improvement and warehouse organization initiatives, including 5S.

Safety:

  • Promote a safe and organized work environment following warehouse safety standards.
  • Conduct daily safety observations and reinforce safe operational practices.
  • Maintain housekeeping and organization standards throughout warehouse areas.

People Leadership:

  • Communicate effectively with associates, supervisors, and management teams.
  • Support training and evaluations for assigned associates.
  • Reinforce accountability, attendance compliance, and operational discipline.
  • Support daily team engagement and operational follow-up activities.
  • Escalate operational concerns and interpersonal issues to supervisors when needed.
  • Promote teamwork, communication, and a positive work environment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of warehouse, inventory control, or fulfillment experience.
  • Previous team lead or warehouse leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience with WMS, RF scanners, and handheld devices preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and urgency.
  • Comfortable with physical warehouse activities including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible schedule availability as operationally required.
  • Proficient with warehouse systems, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and operational reporting tools.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
