Job description

Warehouse Associate

Duration: Initial duration 4 months, with a possibility of extension up to 6 months. Work Location: Portsmouth, Virginia, USA 23704. Shift Timing: 10:00 AM โ€“ 6:30 PM.

Job Overview

We are looking to fill three contingent Warehouse Associate positions. Of these three, one will be assigned to the Receiving team. For this role, the team is seeking a candidate who is computer savvy and comfortable working with systems, as they will assist with system transfers after 4:30 PM. The goal is to ensure adequate support in Receiving while also providing coverage for administrative and system-related tasks that occur later in the day.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Operate forklifts, and package and label customer orders.
  • Utilize computer systems to process receipts, putaways, picks, and replenishments.
  • Inspect incoming product and verify it against the shipping manifest for accuracy.
  • Elevate inventory discrepancies to inventory control or management for resolution.
  • Work effectively with QA organizations to disposition incoming product.
Basic Qualifications | Education
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to perform basic math, and to read, understand, and make decisions based on written operating procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to read product labels and picking sheets.
  • Forklift certification, or the ability to become certified (company-provided training). (For this requisition, priority is given to candidates with forklift experience.)
  • Ability to communicate discrepancies to the warehouse supervisor.
  • Ability to operate a rolling pushcart, electric forklift, and manual pallet jack.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
  • Frequently exposed to moving equipment such as forklifts and rolling carts.
  • Exposed to temperature-controlled warehouse conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions when loading doors are open.
  • May frequently work extended hours as required.
