Job description

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Associate supports accurate inventory records and proper product storage throughout the distribution center. This position performs cycle counts, verifies inventory locations, processes stock movements, and investigates missing or inaccurate inventory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform timely and accurate cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Research and report inventory discrepancies.
  • Print and place stock and location tags as needed.
  • Enter inventory location changes accurately in the warehouse management system.
  • Verify bulk inventory and update bulk storage locations.
  • Process and document internal stock movements, including transfers, relocations, and product designated for destruction.
  • Complete special inventory counts requested by management.
  • Search warehouse locations for missing or misplaced inventory.
  • Maintain accurate inventory paperwork and system records.
  • Follow and help reinforce PBD inventory-control procedures.
  • Operate material-handling equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform other inventory-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of warehouse or distribution-center experience preferred.
  • Previous inventory-control or cycle-counting experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using a warehouse management system (WMS) preferred.
  • Strong basic math and data-entry skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and adjust to changing operational needs.
  • Ability to communicate inventory procedures clearly and professionally.
  • Forklift certification required, or the ability to obtain certification within the timeframe established by PBD.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to operate a forklift and other applicable warehouse equipment.
