Job description

Summary:
Under the direction of the Inventory Supervisor, the Inventory Control Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting the overall integrity of warehouse inventory. This position conducts physical inventory counts, investigates discrepancies, tracks damaged or restricted products, and prepares inventory-related reports. The Inventory Control Associate works closely with warehouse operations and administrative teams to ensure inventory information is accurate, organized, and properly documented within the warehouse management system.

Essential Functions:
  • Conduct physical inventory counts and accurately record totals within the inventory management system.
  • Compare physical inventory results against warehouse records, sales orders, production records, purchase invoices, and other supporting documentation.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies, including errors involving product quantities, locations, or system records.
  • Adjust inventory records as authorized and document the cause and resolution of identified discrepancies.
  • Perform scheduled cycle counts throughout designated areas of the warehouse in accordance with established procedures.
  • Run warehouse exception reports and investigate inventory irregularities or system variances.
  • Prepare inventory reports, including inventory balances, shortages, damaged products, and other inventory-related activity.
  • Track damaged products and ensure all required information is accurately entered into the appropriate system.
  • Maintain control of products placed on hold through proper labeling, system documentation, and physical restrictions.
  • Reconcile all held inventory on a weekly basis and communicate unresolved issues to leadership.
  • Stock, issue, relocate, or otherwise manage materials and merchandise as needed to support warehouse operations.
  • Partner with operations and administrative teams to research inventory concerns and maintain accurate product records.
  • Maintain organized, complete, and accurate inventory documentation.
  • Follow all company safety policies, inventory control procedures, and operational standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on business and operational needs.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of inventory control, warehouse, distribution, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience conducting cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, and maintaining accurate inventory records preferred.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn warehouse management and inventory systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to make timely and accurate decisions while working under pressure.
