Material Handler - Forklift (1st Shift)

Job Description Summary

The Material Handler - Forklift (1st Shift) is responsible for supporting the efficient flow of materials and finished goods throughout the facility. This role ensures accurate receiving, inventory management, material delivery, and documentation while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, and customer requirements. The position works closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams to prevent material shortages, maintain inventory accuracy, coordinate materials, and support continuous operations.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, organizational skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to operate forklift equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Description:

  • Follow all company, departmental, quality, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ship customer orders, including label scanning, truck loading, shipping documentation, and ASN completion.
  • Receive incoming materials from suppliers and shuttles; stock flow racks and process UPS/FedEx deliveries.
  • Supply production lines by loading and delivering material via tugger carts and forklifts, ensuring no material shortages.
  • Unload finished goods from production lines and maintain proper inventory locations using FIFO practices.
  • Process inventory transactions and shipping documents (packing lists, BOLs, MFG Pro receipts).
  • Support cycle counts, inventory accuracy, and file maintenance (electronic and paper).
  • Complete service orders, service boxes, and coordinate packaging material requirements.
  • Prepare, band, and package finished goods and components for shipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, including waste disposal and recycling activities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve shipping, delivery, and inventory issues.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work 1st shift schedule with mandatory overtime as needed.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, warehousing, and inventory control processes.
