POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Retail Associate greets customers on arrival and assists the customers with any questions they have about the purchase they want to make. The Retail Associate helps the customers with returns, refunds, and resolves common complaints. The Retail Associate creates an engaging shopping experience for customers while interacting in a real and authentic way. The Retail Associate works hand in hand with the Spa department, assisting the spa with guest check-ins for day passes and treatments along with their retail duties.


Responsibilities

  1. Initiates conversations and actively listens to customers in an authentic, and personalized way by answering questions, sharing advice, and personal experiences to engage with customers.
  2. Assist customers with purchase decisions by consulting with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
  3. Contributes to the team by being positive, respectful, and helpful to others through actively participating in meetings, Retail and Gift Shop projects, Marketing projects and brand focuses.
  4. Continuously restocks and merchandises the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
  5. Performs ongoing inventory counts and reconciliation activities at the direction of the supervisor and/or retail manager.
  6. Maintains and contributes to an orderly and clean stockroom and sales floor. Arrange products as needed to create efficiency and help to maintain stock room for retail as needed.
  7. Collects payment using the store point of sale system.
  8. Processes returns and exchanges with the approval of the supervisor or managers first.
  9. Maintains Retail Management’s visual and display standards and ensures the selling floor is well-stocked.
  10. Takes initiative in the development of job skills and knowledge to drive store sales and achieve operational results.
  11. Assists in the completion of daily projects and checklists while keeping the focus on the customer experience through good time management.
  12. Demonstrates awareness and adheres to loss prevention, inventory control, safety standards, and all other company policies and procedures.
  13. Fulfills daily website orders, maintains online inventory stock levels, updates online product information, and assists with online customer service per request by Retail Management.
  14. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of all products sold and effectively communicates product knowledge and selling points to customers, as well as staff.
  15. Assists Spa team with customer service and guest check-in. The focus is on assisting any individual who walks into the spa & retail space.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma (or equivalent) preferred. 
  2. Previous retail and/or customer service experience preferred.
  3. On-the-job training provided.
  4. Punctuality and reliability are critical.
  5. Excellent verbal communication skills.
  6. Excellent active listening skills.
  7. Excellent sales and customer service skills.
  8. Ability to anticipate customers’ needs.
  9. Ability to recommend merchandise to customers.
  10. Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store’s point-of-sale system.
  11. Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  12. Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  13. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, sit, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and push/pull/lift items weighing 40 pounds or more. 
  14. This role requires the ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, auditory focus, and visual attention.
