Office Assistant – Inventory Control

Location: Boston, MA
Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (hours may vary seasonally; earliest start time may be 7:30 AM)
Overtime: Up to 45 hours per week; overtime available as needed during busy season


Job Overview

Our client is looking to add an Office Assistant – Inventory Control to our growing team. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused with experience in administrative and clerical tasks.


This position supports inventory control, shipping documentation, warehouse operations, and customer communication in a fast-paced cold logistics warehouse environment.


Responsibilities of the Office Assistant – Inventory Control

  • Process and control inventory orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform data entry related to inventory and cross-docking of products.
  • Answer emails and phone calls regarding shipping information, schedules, and delivery routes.
  • Maintain daily paperwork for warehouse operations and drivers.
  • Process inventory orders and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Support delivery and shipping information management using warehouse software systems.
  • Provide accurate and timely customer service.
  • Read and process written information with a high degree of accuracy.


Required Qualifications of the Office Assistant – Inventory Control

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Experience in a warehouse, production, logistics, or inventory environment preferred.
  • Experience using basic office equipment and software.
  • Ability to learn new software systems.
  • Familiarity with inventory and shipping software is a plus.
    • Current systems used include Smart BOL and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Work Environment

  • Office position located inside a cold logistics warehouse.
  • Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment with changing temperatures and active operations.


Schedule Details

Monday–Friday:

  • Standard schedule: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Seasonal schedule adjustments may apply (earliest start time may be 7:30 AM).
  • Weekly schedule determined by the manager.


Busy Season:

  • Occasional additional shifts may be required, including Wednesdays or Sundays from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.


Pay

$24.00 per hour
Overtime available during busy seasons as needed.
