The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining records on inventory and on order. Monitors reorder points and initiates action to replenish stock. Reconciles discrepancies in inventories and notifies management of irregularities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform inventory control duties as directed which may include the following work;
  • Perform cycle counts of all types: Semi-annual cycle counts of all locations, problem cycle counts generated by system, NCR cycle counts reported by branches, etc.
  • Knowledge of all warehouse processes; receiving, put-away, picking, staging, shipping, packaging, cycle counting, housekeeping maintenance, or other processes as required.
  • Must understand warehouse computer system and all its functions in order to resolve inventory issues
  • Must be able to identify material and look up codes in system and adjust to inventory correctly
  • Must be able to work with Material Sourcing on items that are in the NCR area as well as incoming freight from vendors and branches that need more information before putting into inventory.
  • Train employees as required. Operate all tools and equipment in a safe and orderly manner. Wear the proper safety equipment at all times as required
  • Operate scanners, computers and all other equipment for the warehouse management system as instructed
  • Proper care and handling of tools and equipment at all times. Successful completion of all training as required. Become familiar with materials and products handled in the warehouse facilities.
  • Focus on transaction accuracy. Work in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Other duties, as assigned.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be Forklift Certified and have a valid driver's license
  • 3 to 5 years previous experience required in warehouse work.
  • 1 year experience in each of two of the warehouse process, i.e. receiving, put-away, picking, staging, shipping, packaging, cycle counting
  • Working knowledge of materials and products handled in our warehouse facilities
  • Demonstrate ability to work well with others to promote a team environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn to operate tools and equipment required in warehouse environment
  • Demonstrate ability to learn and follow processes in a warehouse with a warehouse management system
  • Ability to follow instructions and supervision.
  • Must be available to work any shift required
  • Ability to work in a non-air conditioned warehouse environment and meet the physical demands of warehouse work.
  • Ability to wear the proper safety equipment required for warehouse work
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and SAP knowledge
