    Primary Responsibilities

    The Associate, Warehouse Operations V role operates in leadership capacity responsible for supporting supervisors and managers in the successful performance of the department. This includes training new employees, addressing safety, quality, and inventory needs that arise. This role will require you to work in any department on the production floor and provide coverage wherever needed. As with all positions at KeHE Distributors, we expect that all actions will be consistent with KeHE’s Mission, Vision, and Values. 


    Essential Functions

    DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Completes work based on department/area of production floor they are responsible for such as but not limited to selecting, loading, inventory, loading and unloading product, inspection, pallets, etc.  
    • Performs quality checks on products, cases, and pallets to ensure warehouse associates are completing tasks and following proper procedures.  
    • Verifies accuracy of orders, inventory, and cases.  
    • Monitors products and orders to check for any damage.  
    • Trains new hires in the areas of production they are assigned to. 
    • Supports additional training for associates as required   
    • Prepares and submits documentation.  
    • Communicates with supervisors/managers within the warehouse and other departments as needed to assist with answering any questions on orders, inventory, etc.  
    • Steps in and assists with any job at the warehouse or where coverage is needed. 
    • Addresses any issues, changes, and communicates them to their supervisor/manager. 
    • Maintains safe work practices.  
    • Maintains safeguards of confidential company information.  
    • Must maintain good attendance.  
    • Other duties and projects assigned. 

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

    • High school diploma or GED is required.  
    • Experience operating powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc., required.  
    • Ability to communicate well both verbally with internal customers and management.  
    • Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision.  
    • Ability to follow guidelines, work in a team environment, and adapt to changing priorities and goals.  

    Preferred Skills and Aptitude: 

    • Lead and/or leadership experience in a warehouse environment supporting operational metrics 
    • Three+ years of experience in a food distribution or warehouse atmosphere preferred. 
    • Three+ years of experience operating multiple powered industrial equipment 
    • Forklift(s), pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc. 
    • Ability to be cross trained in multiple process paths and have exposure to complex tasks within the warehouse. 
    • Ability to assist with daily activities including forklift operation, receiving, stowing, picking, packing, shipping, inventory management, and documentation of products to meet KeHE’s customer’s needs. 
    • Must have the ability to have verbal and written communication with internal customers and management. 
    • A qualified candidate monitors the safety and security of goods and materials. 
    • Utilizes a warehouse management system (WMS) and other systems to track performance. 
    • Has demonstrated full proficiency in multiple critical warehouse departments and works under moderate supervision 

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential warehouse functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be able to lift, move, and carry 30-40 pounds repetitively upwards of 1,000 times per day. Must be able to lift, move, and carry larger items up to 75 pounds less frequently. The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, climb and sit at times in the warehouse. While performing the duties of this position, the associate is subject to a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm. {Freezer temperatures: (-10 degrees) | Refrigerator temperature (25-35 degrees). The associate is also exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise levels in the warehouse work environment are typically low to moderate.
