Job description

Summary

Under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager, the Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for assisting with organizing, managing, and directing activities for inventory control. This role will work closely with the production and warehouse teams to support operational efficiency and product quality.

Primary Duties

  • Organizeย and conductย scheduled inventory and cycle counts of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods. Regularly update inventory records.
  • Monitor the condition of inventory and ensure that all food safety and quality standards are maintained; remove expired or damaged goods from inventory as necessary.
  • Direct and monitor following FIFO/FEFO, lot coding, LPN creation and LPN rotation.
  • Assistย the warehouse department with receiving inventory.
  • Assist the production department with the pre-staging process of ingredients and materials for production.
  • Investigate inventory issues and initiateย action to resolve inconsistencies
  • Follow food safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company policies regarding inventory storage and handling.
  • Identify inefficiencies in inventory management processes and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Qualifications

  1. Basic math and clerical skills.
  2. Basic knowledge with inventory management software (such as SAP, ROSS, or similar)
  3. Basic MS Excel skills.
  4. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills; effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Forklift certified preferred.
  6. Good interpersonal and communications skills
