Job description

Lead Finance at BAC’s Milford Facility

As the Manufacturing Site Finance Controller, you will be the primary finance partner to the Plant Manager and leadership team at BAC’s Milford, DE plant. You’ll co-own site performance—optimizing cost structure, elevating EBITDA, and spearheading initiatives that sharpen both financial and operational results. This role oversees all plant finance disciplines: internal controls, budgeting and forecasting, reporting, cost accounting, inventory governance, and capital spending. You may also contribute to Americas-wide projects in collaboration with the broader Finance organization.

A Day in the Role

You’ll start by reviewing prior-day production and material consumption, translating operational insights into clear financial signals. Midday, you’ll meet with operations leaders to challenge assumptions and support decisions with data. You’ll close the day refining dashboards, validating inventory movements, and preparing for upcoming S&OP and forecast cycles.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as the senior financial voice at the Milford site and an active member of the Leadership Team.
  • Advise plant leadership with incisive financial analysis, scenario modeling, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Own complete site financial reporting and monthly results analysis, explaining drivers and initiating corrective actions.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy and material usage controls, including physical counts and a disciplined cycle-count program.
  • Track direct and indirect labor productivity, refine reporting, and partner with operations to unlock efficiency.
  • Lead cost accounting: order costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and alignment with the Americas Finance team.
  • Build and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and management reports that power performance reviews and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and SOX compliance; train plant teams and support internal audits.
  • Prepare monthly forecasts, lead the annual plan, and support the Sales & Operations Planning cadence.
  • Own the capital expenditure process: tracking, forecasting, business case development/approvals, and benefits realization.
  • Champion cost-out and productivity projects that elevate plant profitability.
  • Partner with other BAC sites to strengthen financial performance, reporting consistency, and control environments.
Where You Fit

You will report to the BAC Financial Operations Manager and work closely with Corporate Finance, Operations, and cross-functional partners. You’ll directly lead the cost accounting function on-site and develop that capability within the team. The role is based in Milford, DE, with occasional travel to other BAC locations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years in accounting/finance leadership, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop finance/accounting talent.
  • Hands-on ERP/business systems experience (SAP preferred).
  • Demonstrated process improvement track record and cross-functional influence in a plant environment.
  • Self-starter with intellectual curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset.
Tools & Proficiencies
  • Cost Accounting
  • ERP & MRP Systems
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • ERP Software (SAP)
