These intranets serve as private networks that facilitate communication, collaboration, and information sharing among employees. Intranet Developers use web development skills and technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and often platforms like SharePoint to create customized solutions tailored to a company's needs. Their responsibilities may also include integrating third-party tools, ensuring security, and providing technical support for intranet users.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an intranet developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Intranet Developer, you need expertise in web development languages (such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript), experience with content management systems (CMS), and a relevant degree in computer science or related fields. Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise intranet platforms, along with certifications like Microsoft Certified: Power Platform or SharePoint, are highly valued. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills help you gather requirements and work effectively with stakeholders. These skills ensure secure, user-friendly, and efficient intranet solutions that drive organizational productivity and information sharing.
